It's not like it's a stupidly high resolution, it's still less than 4k.

Obviously but nobody is going to drive this monitor at 240fps in AAA games while maxed out. And nobody is going to drive the high refresh 4k monitors either. Not with this generation of gpus. I'm waiting for this to come out and buy it or get the G9 on a discounted price if the Neo is quite expensive, which it most likely will be (I'm guessing £1700+ on release). The G9 can be had for £1049 already which will most likely dip bellow £1000 by the time Neo comes out (July). I want a super ultrawide for sim racing, for when I don't fancy VR.

Does pretty well with a 3080. Picked up the G9 a couple weeks ago. Love it. Going from 3x1080p 5760x1080p 144hz for years to a 1440p monitor at 165hz and now back to a widescreen aspect ratio @240hz, it is awesome. I haven't found a game yet that runs poorly or unplayable. Except Crysis RM lol. 🙂

Yeah, G9 resolution is a touch bellow 4k so it's nothing extraordinary and many games will run just fine even on my 2080. Not at 240fps, sure but meh. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one of these, they're £1049 right now which is a good price but they do seem to have issues, according to what I'm reading on the internet. I'd use mine as 2x 27" monitors 90% of the time in PBP mode and switch to full 32:9 for sim racing only, maybe some less demanding games. Are you using PBP too?

Not surprised that Samsung is working on a new Odyssey as I think it's predecessors had a big commercial success. I am also a sim racer and G9(120HZ) is really tempting at 945 euros. I currently game at 4k with a 1080ti so I will even get a slight framerate boost. My main concern though is 32:9. 16:9 or even 21:9 (standard wide) material will only take small portion of its screen, so it will be like watching something on a very small monitor. This can be a deal braker for who is looking for an all rounder and not just a monitor to use with his sim rig.

@metagamer I have not tried PBP yet, from what I read, the latest firmware that came on mine allows each to be at 120hz, where as prior it was limited to 60hz. I think it was mainly QC issues and firmware/driver hiccups. Most of the issues with earlier models I believe are pretty much nonexistent now. At least from my experience. I've only had it a couple of weeks so, time will tell. Previously I wanted the monitor but it was at an $1800+ price range. I couldn't justify the price. Then it finally dropped back to $1399 when stock increased, so I picked it up. @Apparatus If the game supports 32:9 it's wonderful. Even at a 16:9 ratio though, image is center of the screen with black on either side isn't bad. Still seems slightly larger than my 27" 1440p monitor was image wise.

@Apparatus from what I've read when doing research on this monitor, the vast majority of games that don't support 32:9 will run 21:9 no problem. You could play them in a borderless window and use the rest of the screen for whatever you want, be it browser window, Netflix etc.

5120x1600 = 8,192,000 3840x2160 = 8,294,000 Basically no AA and you are fine.

Let's not forget nobody is making a 5120x1600 monitor. These will be 5120x1440.

Thank you guys. I am pretty sure that 32:9 is not a problem for gaming. I used the word 'material' and said that screens aspect ratio can be a problem for who is looking an 'all rounder'. Moovies or Netflix for example will not take advantage of whole screen. Am I wrong?
