Here we go again, no easing at any level - be it price, supply, pandemic or any wise 🙁

Why? Are they adding RGB?

Not a big deal, unless it becomes a trend. Plenty of competition in that space. I've found Samsung's SSDs to be already overpriced for the little premium they bring. Sabrent, Crucial, WD are totally fine for the majority of consumers.

Expect to see a lot more of this as governments continue to believe the fairy tail that they can stop viral particles.

Covid restrictions.

The governments don't believe it, they just want you to. Beware any solution to problems that require your funds and freedoms.

Since the 980 Pro and 970 Evo Plus 2TB drives died on me within 7 months of purchase (with only around 10TB written for each), I try to avoid Samsung drives like a fire.

Their greatest pro is their 5 year warranty, this is why most of us would consider getting -more of- their drives.

Good thing I already bought my 2TB 980 Pro in the Black Friday sales then 😛

I literally just bought a 4TB 870 Evo on sale, replacing my 4TB main HDD drive, even though it was still expensive anyway (Canadian dollars oblige). Considering the price I hope I'll get at least 5 years out of it. The prices for SSDs at or below the 2TB mark are actually getting much better since the past 2 years or so, in comparison to pretty much any prices they used to be at before. That's why I stayed with my trusty HDDs since 2004 up to pretty much 2 days ago when I ordered that 870 Evo. I needed 4TB though, my Steam library alone is 2.8GB when I care to install all the games I want to keep installed (and it's not my whole library). I'd say above 2TB on SSDs prices still have some ways to go before being what I'd call "affordable". The one I bought still cost me $630 total with taxes and shipping; if it hadn't been on sale it would have been a whopping $758. I could have gotten 10TB+ worth of HDDs with that sort of money (example would be a 10TB WD Black drive at just about that money, actually lower even with taxes in the range of $700 or so).

im sure some of these are sponsored, to rally up sales.

I used to only buy samsung SSDs but their prices are just ridiculous now, it seems their marketing people think QLC is a premium feature even, last I checked they had a 2tb QLC sata drive going for ~250$ while crucial and others offered 2tb nvme TLC under 200$, not even a contest
