Samsung will exhibit a 49-inch CHG90, the HDR (high dynamic range) QLED monitor at IFA 2017.
These are HDR requirements: * HDR10 for LED (0.05 nits black, ≥1000 nits peak, 10-bit color depth) * HDR10 for OLED (0.0005 nits black, ≥540 nits peak, 10-bit color depth) <- CHG90 must fall under this. * Dolby Vision for Cinema (0 nits black, ≥4000 nits peak, 12-bit color depth) Technical specs suggest that this monitor has 10-bit color depth (1.07B colors), but I don't see black level brightness or peak brightness. Specs mention brightness at 350cd/m2 (Typ.), 250cd/m2 (Min.). This doesn't look like HDR. Most conventional monitors already support such brightness so picture with the title "HDR changes the game" is a marketing lie. I will be waiting for "G-SYNC HDR" certified monitors, because nVdia clearly specifies 512 zone full direct array backlight and peak brightness of 1000 nits (cd/m2).

I really don't know how can a curved monitor be used for professional use, it distorts the image.

It's the reason I never liked curved monitors. Though I'm not a professional designer I just can't stand how a curved monitor distorts images. Nothing seems right. There are no straight likes where they should be. Long text also feels weird. I will always prefer flat monitors. For me curved panels make sense only on huge screens like theaters and such. For home entertainment feels just wrong or gimmicky. I just want to view things how they intended to be.

No It doesn't distort the image, unless you sleep below the monitor. Tinfoil hat nonsense.

Exactly but you do have to tilt your head to see those straight lines.
