Ok, nice, put it on 4080. I think Nvidia is going with more cache and narrower this time around? 256-bit.

That is the rumor. If so they copied AMD in that regard. Mitigating the need to have the fastest memory or a wide memory bus by using more on die cache is the way to go right now.

I wonder if mass production will be on time for AMD's and nVidia's new generations.

384GB/s on a 128-bit bus looks really good 576GB/s on 192-bit 768GB/s on 256-bit even 160-bit would have 480GB/s, more than rtx3070 has atm those weird 10gb 160-bit configuration leaks for 4060 might be true

yes, they were designed for that
With our industry-first 24 Gbps GDDR6 now sampling, we look forward to validating the graphics DRAM on next-generation GPU platforms to bring it to market in time to meet an onslaught of new demand

But they are still just sampling. The first cards of RTX 4000 and RX 7000, are probably not on time. Like the 4080's and 4090's. Maybe for stuff like the RTX 4070 and lower. Considering the rumors that they will have small memory buses.

4080 will run on g6x which is already in production

My thought exactly

that's what leaks always said, 4080 and higher on 24gbps gddr6x, micron already announced that memory in april
