A flop indeed, my last 2 phones were from Samsung and they are really good. I was thinking of upgrading next year to Sansung again, as my personal experience with them is good, but I will for sure not jump to the latest and greatest and instead wait it out a couple of months just because of this. Though honestly it is never really a good idea to grab something off the shelves before it even ran some time and issues get exposed.

Not always - S7 Edge still is a fantastic phone from the moment it went on sale.

S7E is the best selling android of the year and easily the best phone, Note 7 is a disaster and they made the right choice.

I was about to grab one (Note 3 owner over here), and there was this battery scandal. Ok, I thought, they screwed up big time, so perhaps there will be some price drop after they fix this mess. After that, there were reports of overheating and poor battery life after replacement. Enough! Then Google presented Pixel. I thought that it may be better to pick it as it may be more reliable. No, not so easy - Google says no Pixel (XL) in Poland, and soon after that replaced Note 7 is confirmed to catch fire on a plane. Why can't we have nice things?

Damn! I've never even thought of this.. There are people out there who use their phone as a VR display - that could end up as a real disaster. Imagine something exploding inch away from your eyes.

I want a pressure sensitive phone to have that pocket ease sketching portability. But could not afford the justification since I had the expense of the s7 edge already. If there is a silver lining to all this. It is that hopefully Samsung will have to really pull out all the research and dev finesse it can muster for the next few years ( more than normal ) To keep it's prestige status intact. Which I am hoping is nice and ready for a more capable Vr powerful device and even more camera capture tech ( love all the camera features but hate that I can't have them all together! And cinemaHD app flat profile support working would be nice again as well ) So I can scan the world ( with a pressure sensitive powerful pen, A powerful OIS EIS, low light sensitive 4k device the world is my notebook 🙂 ( 4k AMOLED HDR screen would be nice if there is a processor that can handle driving as much in VR by then )

Duly noted. I think I'll keep away from Samsung for my future prospects. What a sick joke, ha ha ha! This Waro guy is so funny, oh my God.

I've search twice in the past couple days, but I can't seem to find actual info on how many batteries actually failed? Most I see it simple jokes and news articles all posting the same thing.

I found a youtube video showing what happens when you dismantle a Note 7 battery, and during that stupidness where he burned himself, he said 35 had been reported exploding from the original models, and the video was uploaded about sept 4th ~ Been a good few more since then, and then I think 7 replacements up to now too

Heaviest blow to the company, ever? Greed, greed, greed... Hyper-production and greed...
