I still have to wrap my head around Samsung not doing classic mobile stuff but also laptops with "x86" components

When I look at those modern laptops, I'm always amazed at how technology has progressed. To fit all that into such a thin frame - an impressive feat of engineering.

samsung is on x86 market laptops for more than 25 years https://news.samsung.com/global/youre-how-old-samsung-pcs-modern-history
I can honestly say I have never seen or heard of any of those devices, but thanks for the history break. I mean, if they were 17 years in the market with less than 1Mio devices sold per year, it is no surprise that, with concurrent... 8 million devices worldwide, one can miss it and not see one in decades relatively easy. Does anybody have personal experience with that stuff?

yes. i've played w/ sammies while ordering lappies for work, but usually ended up w/ acer or msi. mainly because of config options were more plentiful w/ acer & msi. also we have a bunch of lightweight Dell's for office staff.

the issue w/ this laptop is one of limited distibution this is designed as a MSI killer (esp. Leopard series) but will only be sold in vanishingly small numbers outside of Korea/Japan. which will make it non-competitive on price in the US as MSI/ROG/Aorus will sell thousands of thin and light gaming laptops vs. dozens of the Samsung. however, for a Samsung fanboy this is a "must-have" just like the "expandable" ROG laptop/tablet
