My benchmark is completely whacky now. I guess, since the cache is a full 1GB it uses it completely and gives such over the top speeds.

Doesnt seem to do much outside of benchmarks

Looking at Crystal Disk Mark to understand the performance impact of RAPID is completely unbalanced. In the real world it can't accelerate data or user experience to anywhere near the same levels. In fact, RAPID makes the SSD slower in some areas, a little faster in others, along with the danger of data loss/corruption if power loss occurs. Windows already caches previously accessed data anway, the difference with RAPID is that it is only 1GB of space, and is available on reboot (although still has to be retrieved from the SSD at that point anyway). Have a look at this report:

Does this works with RAID ?
Cause my samsung 840Pro is only 1 and I have 3x hdd's on raid so I can't disable the raid.
Trying to run Samsung magician it find 2 Samsung 840 Pro, one Non-OS which it says the real serial, and other one OS which has some serial.
But I can't enable.
The error is : A Similar SSD was detected. RAPID Mode cannot be enabled on this SSD.
What to do ?

It says it can only accelerate one ssd at the bottom. Maybe it can only enable it on primary OS partition (or the first one depending on the SATA port order) when it detects 2.

Don't worry about RAPID mode in RAID 0. The previous Samsung software didn't recognize RAID configurations either. Also SSDs in RAID are controlled by Intel drivers. In RAID 0 the RAPID mode isn't really required, because it will get the same kind of performance all the time - no exceptions. So in RAID 0 it works even better than RAPID mode.

Yeah. Like I said, Samsung's SSD software used to get confused about RAID configurations. It doesn't surprise me that it still gives them problems.

Got all excited and then read this..

Looks like i wont turn it on just yet!
Edit, looks like someone already beat me to the link ><

RAPID Mode causing problems opening other apps!
:bang:Winamp, CPU-Z my other non SSD drives not functioning! Now it's taken 20 minutes and counting to disable! After waiting over an hour for it to complete the disabling process, finally I had to interrupt, uninstall then reinstall Samsung Magician!
