I miss CRT tech far superior to LCD in regards to blacks and especial the picture quality things in motion. I high quality CRT can and will rival LCD/LED tech and some repects be better. Last I check CRT show full color range while LED/LCD is hit or miss depending on panel. Sadly I dont have room for CRT and they never gona bring that tech make. My only hope is Oled one day will have the best of LCD and CRT maybe, I hope.

I loved the video quality of my old 21" Trinitron CRT. Unfortunatly it took up a lot of desk space and was heavy. I don't my 22" LCD is bad though and if I want colors there is no problems, can have much colors when using Nvidia's vibrance settings.

If you guys looking for older crt monitors, well just go to thrift stores. They still sell a bunch of them where i lived for 5 bucks or 10 dollars.

CRT monitors are a pain in the dick, it's impossible to get a perfectly even rectangle and all the settings go to hell every time the resolution is changed. I still have a Mitsubishi Diamondtron lying around for retro gaming but it's such a pain that I almost never use it. It doesn't help that it's like 50lbs, and its viewing area is what? Maybe 20"?

Still love my Sony G520's...

Hook up my old crt monitor on my older computer which i don't use. So i go to my video site , watch my videos in 720 and the quality is better, the colors are better. Only problem with CRT, too much of a hassle in weight. Seriously thinking about going back to CRT. LCD monitors are nice, but damn if you sit back too far you can't see crap, and why is the quality in video and colors less than CRT, sigh.
I agree with you. Its a shame they weigh 34957 lbs and are cumbersome, because the color and black levels on a good CRT are unparalleled. My LCD is pretty nice but the viewing angles are bad. If you dip too far to the left or right, it washes out. Too high and it does the same! CRT's didn't do any of that

Agreed!
things in motion.
New LightBoost LCD's can have less motion blur than some CRT's such as the Sony FW900. (See Photos: 60Hz vs 120Hz vs LightBoost) They use a strobe backlight, so they flicker like a 120Hz CRT. That said, the colors doesn't match a well-calibrated CRT. I used to have a CRT projector, a big hulking beast. It was a blast to use for Star Wars Racer more than ten years ago!

Also If I remember correctly there were wide screen CRT monitors. I remember seeing a picture of one.

They were very rare, most were broadcast monitors used in TV stations and such. These particular monitors fetch high prices used even today. Back then they cost many thousands.

Sony Trinitron FW900 http://img07.taobaocdn.com/bao/uploaded/i7/13590494/T2PJNlXndaXXXXXXXX_!!13590494.jpg It's 24" and the only widescreen CRT monitor ever made. Considered to be the holy grail of CRT's they are still well sought after. Refurbished units sell on eBay for $1000. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-GDM-FW900-24-TRINITRON-WIDESCREEN-PRO-DISPLAY-/271160430884 Sadly they are not available in NZ so I have the 21" version instead. http://f4.fsm.tech-specs.com/aq/aa/r0/760d91e3695cefa81f13b186128bc4b7551adea0.jpg

Very interesting. Also I think my Asus VH238 can rival CRTs in the showing of full color range. The Black is very well done. The one annoyance about CRT monitors is that if you are in the area of a CRT TV and a person turns it on there is some interference causing a quick flicker.
