I still think this curvature only makes sense on the bigger ultra-ultra wide monitors. While it's not as bad as on 16:9, I still prefer a more subtle curvature for 21:9, like I have on my Alienware AW3420DW.

Samsung be smart and make a 165 va 32 inch 1440p freesync. Gsync just cost an extra 150 euro.

More curvature = more immersive and i think 34 inc 21:9 are pretty good for it. I also think cruvature on 16:9 is useless.

What the hell IPS? Who cares? We are enthusiasts here. VA/qled and oled are the great superior ones.

VA makes my eyes bleed with that shadow smearing. Ever saw a VA and IPS side by side? Well i have that right now. For shooters / fast reaction games IPS gives a much sharper experience. VA only works for rts or racing games.

I guess it's a highly personal thing then. My eyes feel much better / less sleepy now that ive returned to a 144hz IPS. Ppl are different. And different opinions because of it. Dissing other's opinions as not being 'superior or enthusiastic' is kinda stupid. πŸ™„

IPS is more sharp and colorful while VA is better in black levels and natural color. While my current monitor is a 32 VA ... I like the colors on my IPS laptop. .... Maybe it;s the monitor fault as it is a cheap 32 Gigabyte . NO money for G7 Samsung !

Cheapest Sony TV and LG are IPS panels for a real reason. More expensive are VA and oled. Samsung goes va next aka qled for a reason. By the moment I went samsung g7 for pc/xbox vs lg IPS monitor(connected to laptop) I cannot go back. Contrast and deep blacks are almost unreal and only second to my oled tv. Even in my bedroom all day I feel kinda disgusted by sony IPS tv. I mostly watch TV in livingroom's lg oled.

Not anymore, If you check the reviews by TFTCentral you will see that the G2G times have been reduced and are even lower than some competitive IPS on this new Samsung VA tech, you are talking about old VA panels.

I would argue anything wider than 16:9 is useless. For gaming, you're just cropping your vertical field of view, and for productivity work, it's much slower to navigate from opposite ends of the screen. For media, everything is letterboxed. Human vision is roughly 3:2. Aside from a few Apple products that used this ratio, the only "standard" form factor that came close to human vision was 16:10. As far as I'm concerned, the best immersion is a curved display that covers your entire field of view. Wider displays aren't more immersive.

Some people in this thread clearly aren't familiar with Samsung VA panels. The Odessey G7 VA panel has better motion performance than the average IPS panel.

Wondering when someone will make an OLED monitor in the 27-38” range. I guess by the time it’s economical mini LED will be a thing already.
