So will all 10bit hdr 4k TV's be able to do hdr10+ via an firmware update? I dont really see much about 12bit/hdr12 or will that be the next up and coming standard/feature even though the tech is already there

Dolby Vision already supports this (dynamic metadata frame-by-frame HDR up to 12bit & up to 10.000 nits) on HDMI 1.4 and up. Sony, Philips, LG, Vizio & TCL now supports Dolby Vision, but so far only 10 bits panels. I don't know why samsung is so much against DV, but I would like to know if this HDR10+ is something that all 2016 tv's (from all brands) and up could get via a firmware update. Samsung is the only one supporting this format right now. Need more details about the HW requirements and if the other brands is going to support this.

I guess they (and Amazon) are so into HDR10+ as it is an open standard ?

Will there be a new G-HDR standard from Nvidia for just 150$ built in to the monitor as module?
