Great review. Love how compact it is and offers so much. No need for Sata cables and whatsoever. Once my 512GB 850 EVO won't cut in anymore, I consider to switch to NVMe.
https://i.imgur.com/MB4ThkD.png
Im sorry but for 500USD its an OVERPRICED Trash and i fully acknowledge of what i just said. Corsair MP510 2TB beats it in benchmarks, costs 299USD permanently and the cherry on the top has 3120TBW Even the 1TB MP510 has higher endurance 1700TBW then Samsung 2TBs 1200TBW For 600USD as in 100$ more then 2Tb Samsung you can have 4TB RAID0 with 3120TBW and fly to the moon 🙂

corsair mp510 is outperformed by hp ex950 2TB, a better drive on all fronts, has it's own nvme driver, and a better controller. You just better be off to provide it some cooling.

Yeah, they're pretty sweet. I got one when I built my first Ryzen system and couldn't believe how small it was. I also couldn't believe how easy it was to install, plus it does wonders for cable management. I also got an enclosure for one and use it like a flash drive (I'm thinking of doing away with actual flash drives from now on).

Yeah but not much cheaper https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Corsair-1920Gb-force-Series-Mp510-M-2-Nvme-Ssd-M-2-2280-Pcie-3D-Nand-R-W-34/401766540224?hash=item5d8b26e3c0:g:OnoAAOSwJJdc2Z9s

MUCH MUCHHHHH cheaper, the offical retail price in USA was just reduced to 279USD for 2TB drive, but if you not from USA you can still buy from amazon.com they ship to most countries,I buy most parts there but I usually compare across all amazon shops, USA, UK, Spain, France and Spain, thge bonus of buying from EU i get additional discount, VAT reduction. Sometimes EU prices are compared to US, then with VAT removal and lower shipping from EU its even cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Force-MP510-1920GB-Storage/dp/B07HR5PN9Q P.S. I assume your from UK? Corsair also sells everything thats on their web site, you can buy directly, and they have localized shops, UK, France, Spain. The offical retail price in Corsair UK to buy directly from them with warranty and free shipping is 264.99GBP for 2TB drive https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Storage/M-2-SSDs/Force-Series-MP510/p/CSSD-F1920GBMP510

Is no one going to talk about the Intel 660p 2TB for $199..... no?
Yes, its cheap but its slower then all modern NVMe drives, it will be faster then SATA SSD and its cheaper then 2Tb SATA so in this case it great. But the main purpose for this drive is Data/File/Games, its not speed or longivity

One always needs some storage space. This week I revisited my quest for cheap large capacity (not so fast) M.2. And noticed something interesting. 1TB M.2 having PCIe 3.0 x4 with read speed around 2.1GB/s are just 30% more expensive than 1TB SSDs which are limited to 550MB/s read speed. There's not much more space for reduced prices at this moment. (2TB is different in this.)

It's a pity, that no 960 Pro 2TB was testet, although one can be seen near the CPU-socket on the motherboard on page 7: https://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=50984 I assume it's the systemdrive of that testrig, but it'd have just been nice 2 see a comparison of it. ;-) But still thanks a lot for the interesting review.

Terrible:

Speed is great and blah blah blah but how about reliability? Consumer SSDs still lose data after sudden power loss! Don't believe me? Try it yourself https://brad.livejournal.com/2116715.html Its frustrating that no one doing reviews runs that simple test... It would be nice if you where the first one to consistently test it Hilbert, be our hero!!!
If you don't want data to be lost/corrupted on sudden power loss then disable write caching (you will lose performance by doing so but it will prevent data corruption). I do this for my BOINC drive so that I don't lose computing progress on brown/blackouts.

How about buying a UPS? Its dirt cheap these days, I just got 2000VA/1200W one for same price 600W cost me 10 years ago

All this silly rant... just get entry level UPS for like 100-150€.

You can say it is over priced but you spoil your argument by saying it is trash. At least you apologised at the start for your ill thought out rant.... So you get 1 out of 10 for that post.

Note that nobody ever moved from the old SATA SSD and got blown away from the performance of the new spec in the real world compared how people were blown away moving from HDD to SSD. End of story. You can quote figures all you like.

A UPS is a good backup option, but it's still a good idea to turn off write caching if you don't want to lose data.

Samsung suits think way too high of themselves, if there is product with almost three times the endurance, similar benchmarks, much lower price and they still make money [and Corsair loves money no less then Samsung, not a discount brand], it only means Samsung is stuck in the old days of SSD pricing and trying to fish their fanboys to autobuy. Of course its the product is not trash, there are much worse SSDs, the price is 100% trash and versus MP510 2Tb it kind of meh SSD 3120TBW is no joke, EVO is no longer the king. Last year MP510 also gave a fight to Evo 970 [non plus]
