This is a great little NVMe drive for "regular" use. I'm pretty sure quite a few guys on here already own one of these (in various capacities). Good review too HH.

Yeah its super. I use mine with an OS partition and the rest for games I'm playing. Its really fast, I havent found a negative yet. Mine is 1TB, 5 1/2 months old, 2/3 full, with the newer 12S controller and 512MB cache. I wasnt too pleased to find this was the drive I was sent as there was no mention of the change in controller or the cache size. But it doesnt matter for my use, its storming quick. I paid £110 in the UK, the lowest price I ever found here. The US had even better prices. I blow a fan at mine just cos I can. The max temp it has hit is 50C. ps thanks for the review 🙂

Any chance you will test the Silicon Power A80 next?

I've had the 512GB version for a few months now, no complaints at all (fingers crossed)

I got the 2Tb version last week for 240 euros. It has been working perfectly. Oh, and mine is one that has a white and blue colors.

Nice drive, but found the Inland Pro (corsair made MP510 "clone") to perform better, at least when it comes to min read/write.

I've had this drive in my newest build now for a couple of months. I use it as my primary OS drive in a 4 SSD Storage set-up backed up to a 6tb spinner. Could not believe it for the price and may get another for the second MB mounting point to use as a main Game drive.

Nice! Same 4k random read @ QD=1 as SM951nvme released in summer 2015 😀 5 years with the same performance is pretty boring. It's about the same as "singlecore" performance in cpu's, and latency in cpu's. "Same" performance 5 years ago.

I have the 2TB Inland Premium nvme. It's been solid and priced well at $220. It's 3.0, but I don't require 4.0 speeds so it makes a great game drive. I wouldn't shy away from Sabrent either. They both make good drives that are faster than anyone outside of professional use really needs.

The one in this review was the E12S too....you can see it in the pics, so you can take solace that the good performance measured in this review is applicable to yours too. I've got the E12 version of this drive in 1TB, but I reached the same conclusion as you...it's a great drive and was super cheap when I bought mine in the UK too!

I was about to pull the trigger on the 2TB version but some guy in the reviews on Amazon.uk posted a vid complaining about "real world performance" but he got called out for BS in the comments. I have no idea about these drives tbh (sata user). Why are these so cheap compared to 970? Is the 970 really worth so much more cash? 😕

Brand name, DRAM cache (this Sabrent doesn't appear to have any), the controller itself, and the amount of layers (MLC vs QLC). These make a biiiiig difference in price.

I have been using a 2GB one for a while now for my games drive (OS is on another NVME SSD). Was pretty cheap in black friday deal (£187), works fine.

Okay, thanks. I bought the 1TB version for now, if it performs fine will buy another larger one later but I only have one screw so... 🙁

Sabrent Rocket does have DRAM cache, and it's a TLC drive just like the Samsung Evo's

Banned imagehost? I don't know a better one than postimage tbh
They inject spam links. You could just use the upload function from the forums 😉

Ok, I won't use them again, bit of a shame because it's lightweight but if they're up to no good they can bugger off, I hate shady sh17 like that. I didn't even know about the upload option. Something new learned. 😀
