AMD can literally knock on your door and take the chip back, so buying engineering samples is not recommended.

Considering the price of a 5800X, that's actually not so bad for a rare "early-access" chip with an iGPU.
Under what rights do they have to do this, and with what evidence can they provide you're the one who actually has it? Just because you bought it, doesn't mean it's in your possession.

Chip is more expensive than 5800x.

The only entity mildly interested might be a competitor, can't understand anyone who'd buy this for personal use.

what part of you don't know what you're talking about can't you grasp?
the FBI coordinates and co-operates in the reclamation of assets all the time.

But please, continue to believe (incorrectly) that FBI only operates in the USA, when in fact it can operate in any country it has been granted cooperative right to do so.

@Astyanax the cost and the effort for amd get back their sample is jus not worth it.
Now 500 for this cpu if the performance is close to 5800x and the apu graphics performance can approach gtx 1050ti . With the landscape of the gpu market atm this can be considered a good deal.... Witch is kind of tragic.

can, has done, and will again; send the law enforcement to collect misappropriated engineering samples and arrest those selling them - and I'm sure Hilbert can attest to there being cases of buyers having their purchase confiscated in some of these cases, though rarely brought up in tech media.
That's not up to you to determine.
An engineering sample can have undisclosed instruction sets or a design feature that the company is not ready to reveal (or revealing it could harm the company)
Intel for example, Venix
@Astyanax maybe if it was a month or two before official release of the zen 3 family but as things are it is just a wild cpu that everyone that watches closely reviews etc know pretty much spot on how it will perform .... Now if this was a 6700g with zen4 cores i can see how amd will take swift action 😛
