no wonder, people were waiting for r5000 for a long time. the way 3700x,3600xt,3600 and even 2600x were selling in Dec20 shows a lot of them still chose r3000/r2000 over Zen3 imo the right choice given how they're selling 3800x $40 cheaper than 5600x and 3600 is literally half the price of 5600x.I'd go that way too, paying eur350 for a 6/12 when a binned 3800x 8/16 sells for eur310,not a smart choice. They'd sell even fewer r5000 if they hadn't locked r3000 out of SAM.

The last 2 CPUs I bought were Ryzens. One for a cheap build and one for my primary rig. Both are pretty great.

3700X is still mighty CPU . Cost same as 5600X. For future gaming might be better than 5600X.

The 5000 series is still suffering from availability issues, at least over here, which would have affected the sales as well. Not everyone is willing to wait potentially for weeks, instead of simply going for an older but still valid 3000 series CPU with a cheaper price to boot.

and it's only getting worse now the difference is almost enough to cover the cost of a b450 board here

On other hand, intel suffer from aviability too (exept if you want a Celeron or a Pentium Gold (price or perf lol) ), while AMD have made effort on the 5600X in bulk/oem. I really hope that this aviability issue will be resolved soon for every brand AMD,NVidia and Intel.

Great to see how much more AMD is now selling - as the said in movie if you build it, they will come. ie. build a good product and people will buy it. Also crazy to see the amount of actual CPUs sold in a single country in one month - huge numbers. The high end is still low sales because availability and price - rare as hell and still crazy prices - I paid £829.94 (920.19 Euro) for the 5950 - if the 5900 had come into stock first I might have just went for that instead. But never saw it in stock.

Didn't people say that the 5800X was a pointless CPU? 🙂 If you game then go 5600X and if you do productivity go 5900X? Looks like the price is still the deciding factor. Interesting that the 5900X isn't popular at all.

Which is not usually an issue for Games normally its the IPC which is why Intel did so well until Ryzen 3 came along Ryzen 5k costs more for sure because its better for Thread speed related work SKU for SKU than anything else on the market from Intel or previous gen AMD
yeah but you'd think amd would price an 8 core at 350 if even intel does just cause it's faster doesn't mean price needs to go +50-60% up if it worked that way then next 5nm 6 core would be $500.sure it'd beat a 7nm 8 core but that's not how it's supposed to go.

I dont know where it costs way less. I got 5600X for 320 EUR , i dont feel robed at all. It was exactly same price as 3700X, i still liked 5600X more . That SC performance is crazy, some older games ( if you like high fps) FPS sky rocketed .
here in Poland 1370 for 3700x,1690 for 5600x https://www.ceneo.pl/98430083 https://www.ceneo.pl/83359728

I guess situation changed. Got 5600X for 1400 PLN. I wouldn't consider 3700X over it, but now it seems very reasonable.
lol it was never under 1550 at least in stores even pre order was 1500

It is Polish for me as it gets. I paid in PLN , and got my product , i din't really check if owner is polish or not , not that i care 🙂. Didn't really dig in that much but i remember there were other shops around this price. Got 3 of them , for me , my friend and 1 to spare 🙂
