Is it just me, or he really did turned off the SMT for r5 2600X?

Been done before, I guess it's still fun but getting high LN2 clocks is a bit dated now.

Stay tuned for the review(s) people.

Well, that is not a very impressive number. Some delided Intels with liquid cooling + liquid metal can already achieve stable 5.4 - 5.5GHz.

Speaks more about difference in quality of lithography. At this moment in time, AMD has CPU design superior to intel. But intel still holds clock crown due to better lithography.
Intel is well aware of this and since it has been announced that Zen2 may reach 5GHz too, I am pretty sure that intel's techs are working overtime on real innovation.
We may see notable improvements in next 1~2 years on both sides.

Didn't the 1800X on LN also reach 5.8GHz? I'm not sure if that was all cores, but it seems the maximum OC potential of these chips aren't really a whole lot better than the first generation. But, note I said maximum potential - I'm aware the overall potential is improved, hence the XFR speeds already being higher than what most people can OC to on 1st-gen parts.

Still happy to see they have made improvements in other areas though.

And breaking NDA in the process. No reviews or benches of any kind are supposed to be released until the 19th
