12 is cheaper than 20, of course. 20 being kind of nonsensical in the current way that things work.

Lots of paper pre orders being cancelled soon

Nvidia seems dont know what to do. Never seen the company so confused. Good thing amd is on the track.

Now all that people will need is money, a lot of models might be available.

12 I would dig. That is assuming it comes at the same price as the non "Ti" version comes now. If 12 GB card costs $999 or something else equally ridiculous, they can keep it. I was already set to go AMD this round, but if NV can bring a top-end 12GB card at the same $700 price, then I'll definitely reconsider ! That extra 2GB could mean an entire year of extra usage life of the card in my computer !

I seriously doubt they would come in at the same price as the 3080 and drop the price on that card. I'm thinking this would drop at $899 if it's a 12GB card.

Let's wait and see if they are.

You might wanna drop pappa Jensen a call after deciding prices as i doubt even he knows. It's all dependent on AMD performance (nvidia probably know that already) and pricing.

Very true some of the leaks on Big Navi have it beating out the 3080 on rasterized performance but not for RT. If AMD comes in at $599, I wouldn't be surprised to see a price cut from Nvidia.

Since it'll be a slightly cut down 3090 with half the memory, I assume it will likely cost around $1100-1200. However, if AMD is somehow able to get at least close to the 3090 with a far lower price, it might be more affordable, too. We'll see.

I don't see the reason for a 3080 TI to exist when there is just 10% performance difference between 3080 and 3090. If a 3080 TI comes, it has to be at the same performance as 3090 just $500 cheaper in order to be worth it. I am happy with my 3080 for now even with 10GB, never had issues about to low memory and I only play at 4K now. DLSS also helps for those games that have it even if the card can run most games at 4K all maxed out. The only reason for Nvidia to release it is to try to compete with AMDs 6800XT and 6900XT. Maybe they got a competition now.

Iยดm having an hard time keeping up with all the rumours surrouding New cards from Nvidia but it seems obvious that Nvidia needs to fill the gap between the 3080 and 3090.

And here we have the mandatory "How to invent some bs after reading about a rumour while praising AMD" comment.

Since 3090 is barely 10% faster than 3080, the 3080Ti would be...5% faster than 3080? And cost what...999$? Pointless.

Well, this launch has been a disaster. Hopefully AMD won't repeat it.

O.K. I promise that this is the last time that I post this but with all these paper launches by Nvidia it never gets old: [youtube=5xAaQzaMsug] Should be embed in all RTX 3xxx series reviews in conclusion... Try to listen three minutes in loop and you will get an eerie feeling. Watch the candy jar in the background - beware of the leather jacket man trying to take you in the nvidia van - there is no candy!

The 3090 has relatively meagre gains over the 3080, with it offering a hefty 24GB and it being, inaccurately, assumed as a Titan product, hence the $1500 asking price. Where does that leave a potential 12GB 3080 Ti? It will have to be priced between the 3080 and 3090, obviously, but in order for the 3090 not to seem completely overpriced Nvidia won't want it to cost much less than $999, which will put it in an awkward position vs the 10GB $650 3080. That about sums up Nvidia's Ampere strategy, awkward, and frustrating. Nvidia could offer a 3080 Ti on a 352-bit bus with 11GB, at a reduced cost, but again, the performance wouldn't be much greater than the 3080. Just awkward.
