Overclockers are used to high watt usage, so 250-350w is no problem. Using coustom watercooling for my 7980xe @ 4.7ghz, 9900k @ 5.3 ghz, 1950x @ 4.2ghz all cores. Need for speed> powersave 😀

i'm pretty happy with high TDP cpus, all this auction thing seems like a very dumb move for me, but it looks like Intel is untouchable, they are still doing great even after all their awful business practices.

I don't understand the point of this. Surely, it shouldn't be that hard to overclock a 9940 to 5GHz (let's face it - if you've got the budget for such a CPU, you've got the budget for a good cooling system and PSU). Aside from the most diehard Intel fans, I don't see why anyone would care about this.
