Damn, I was really hoping AMD would stick with their usual October release date. I wanted to do my next rig by then. That doesn't necessarily mean I'd buy Zen, but I wanted to see benchmarks by October so I knew what to get (but even if Zen is 10% slower than Skylake, that's good enough for me).
Still no official confirmation for release period :/

You mean supporting Xpoint in memory Dimms?
I mean Optane

AMD really needs to get ZEN out in 2016.

They're both delayed? That sucks. What is going on?

2017 only??? I was hoping for Kaby Lale and Zen to be released this year so i could (finally) build a new rig!... I guess i can wait a few more months... And with a little bit of luck, no one is gonna notice how old my rig is!... I must be an embarrassment to the Guru3d community:D

One reason why I am waiting for Kaby has little to do with Kaby itself but more to do with the 'sure-to-arrive' new MB's that will come along with Kaby. I am building a new Mini-ITX and would like to use an Impact board but the current one isn't that nice and I would like to have USB 3.1 built in as the possibility to add it in will be limited and difficult at best. Gutted to see the delay though but I guess it will give the GPU's more time to settle down with their prices... I am currently running a Q6600 so another few months won't kill me.

I wonder how many of you here read the RUMOR part....???

Everything is a rumor until it's not.

If AMD really is pushing it to next year, and this isn't just another baseless rumour, it must mean the yields from the new 14nm process are abysmal. I hope that only applies to Zen and not also to GPUs. AMD is surely finished if they can't get any new GPUs out when Nvidia is apparently already planning to release a 1060 as well, and based on the 1070 & 1080, they have got no problems whatsoever.
AMD still haves the console market

Going to be an expensive year. The monitor tech is appearing in 2017 along with new vid cards and now the cpus. Time to see what I can get out of the CFO.

So at computex Zen was on schedule, week later its pushed back to 2017. Ummmmmm ok.

For me this news at "Digitimes" is quite nonsensical. I can understand that Intel is waiting for bigger market, for Cabylake. But AMD...? Is AMD also waiting for bigger market? And because of that, AMD is waiting for Cabylake premiere? I don't see any source of this news in on Digitimes site. Does anyone know this source?

I am curious what ( Zen ) is going to sell for! 8 cores /16 threads the cheepest Intel comparrison would be $ 899 so I am hoping to see a $250 Price tag on that puppy but that is just wishful thinking, if it performs well I would be a little over $300 for a Zen 8 core. Now on the (Apu) side of things I am very interested what they do there also, If they can build a Apu with around 1,000 Stream prossesors I think they will have one hot ticket on there hands. Its a very exciting time to be a power-user indeed.Hell I am proud to say I actually support both cams now, You couldnt say that a few years ago. Edit- Zen will more then likely sell for more but I was just stating they need to sell (alot) of units in order to win back some ground that Intel took over. 🙂

zen pushed back to 2018 industry wasting silicon on depreciated arm processors; companies trying to sell 600mhz like its 1998.

I could make an AMD "TOLD YA!" thread, but I'm too much of a gentleman for that :P Important thing is: Zen has always been scheduled against Kaby lake. A quarter sooner or later would make some difference in financials, but it does not matter in the big picture.

@pimpineasy, if you ever have an emergency, god forbid, and you meet a fireman last name Hemstalk, that's my bro in-law, stay safe.

Oh, wait, this is a Digitimes rumor. Okay, false alarm, nothing has been delayed.

Well, i hope performance will justify the delay.

AMD still haves the console market
AMD has the console market because they undercut Intel hard. They really don't make much on it. Hopefully they have some leverage now that they can cut a better deal on the next console iterations.
