Doubt it, but let's see. 🙂

For people that read headlines and not articles - this "rumor" is by the same guy that said they'd launch it at GTC.

Glad I jumped the nvidia ship, nvidia treats their customers like sheep imho with the way they withhold info.

Heck I'd probably get it if it puts out less heat but is the same as my 1080ti. Running the blower at 100% to overclock requires a headset.

Anything that comes out this year will most likely just be a refresh. Even if it has the much sought after new number attached to it, ala GTX 1180 series!

Don't pre-order people...I mean, don't pre-order, people! Be strong!

If it does not have something new/improved inside, people will call it Pascal 3.0. But if it improves on something, or gives something new, ... so many guns jumped.

PASCAL REFRESH 1. CHIPS REDUCED from 16nm to 12nm 2. GDDR6

As opposed to AMD's overpromising on performance, followed by their bait and switch with Vega pricing followed by not being able to produce enough cards to keep up even BEFORE the crypto crisis? Face it, both of these companies suck from a customer standpoint.

Actually, this is one of the very few cases where pre-ordering isn't such a stupid idea. With GPU prices being so high, a pre-order might be a way to evade that. But... for anyone who already has a Pascal GPU, I agree that pre-ordering shouldn't be done.

Yep, I also think this is going to be a refresh. I don't think this will have any significant gains. I just hope the 1180 will have the performance of the 1080Ti.

Nvidia and their partners are just about to launch their 4K HDR monitors. It would make sense to release a new or revamped video card to better match the new monitors' capabilities.

No company is any different. If you leak such information too early, you clobber sales of your current products. No company does this intentionally. Do you see AMD telling you to stop buying their current stuff because in 3 months their new stuff is coming out? That would just be a bad business decision and possibly get you fired (yes, even the boss can get fired in a publicly-held company).

Naaaaaahhhhhh. There are 31 days in July. Fake news

Pretty sure this rumour has been buffed as nVidia have officially states new GPU's soon.I wouldn't expect them in till at least September maybe October.

It would be nice to read a brand new video card review from Hilbert, but otherwise I wouldn't hold my breath. On the other hand if it really happens, it won't be cheap. The memory manufacturer's cartel is selling everything they make with splendid profits as it is, so introducing a new product with a new type of memory doesn't sound like an affordable affair. But if Nvidia can do it and get their money from enthusiasts, why not? In the end Nvidia does have lots of engineers on the payroll, and they need to be kept busy.

I hope Nvidia takes it's time and being over confident then AMD hits them with a surprise like how Ryzen cpu's did to INTEL.

I was just making a bad joke - anyway, I'll be the first to pre-order if it's fast enough 🙂
