"16 June would see announcements with availability on June 7th", seems strange announcement coming after availability š

Most likely is july. I read somewhere that they want to be 7/7 .

The rumorers said will be 4+0 & 4+0 glued chiplets.
Because one single chip on 3300X do a great job and they have plenty of 4cores chips.
To cut the release of "new" chips from Intel the AMD staff will re-release this 3750-3850X series like the good old Zen+ series.

7nm euv ? better binned ? minor tweaks that are like zen2+ but the gains where smaller than zen+ so it did not warrant new series of cpus ? did the saw the pl2 and they where like ... wait a minute we can set a state to 250 watts too ! we will see i guess :P

These are the chips that will save AMD from millions of dollars in lawsuits. From a business standpoint I totally get it, and its not a bad option. I'll say again though that I just don't see Zen 3 working flawlessly on any 400 series motherboard.

Could this be a sign that Zen 3 is delayed ?
Or they are done just to rain on Intel's 10-series parade.

I mean, I'm not complaining, if that 3900XT proves to be a decent buy, maybe I'll do another CPU-only upgrade and then use my 3700X in the other computer (which now has a low clocked 1st gen 1700)
Zen 3 (4000 series) of course would be a better buy, but that might be many months away, and most likely overpriced at launch. And needs a new mobo too !

I think itĀ“s going to be higher clocks, like 100Mhz, because thatĀ“s ZenĀ“s greatest weakness against Intel and because thereĀ“s not much more they can do. And if they replace the "normal" versions at the same price, itĀ“s not a bad move.

I will not expect more that extra 100MHz single core boost and all core clocks. maybe 150Mhz in mutlicore
But i see 3 reasons AMD making them
1. They have so many good chiplets so it is waste of money to sell them as 3600x/3800x or 3900x. It is better to make XT CPU add extra 30-40$ to price and milk market
2. They where planing to give XT models just before 4000 series to quiet community that is running 300/400 chipsets series to give them something to upgrade this year. But because 400 will support Zen 3 they will still release them because they are in middle of manufacturing process already and because of point 1
3. It is response to Intel 10th gen premiere and AMD want to give better choices for customers so they will chose AMD not Intel
Undying
Didnt expected a zen2 refresh knowing zen3 is already teased being close already.

AM4 so lovely at this point !
For someone with a single gaming PC it doesn't matter much, but some of us have 3-5 PC's in their home.
- Primary gaming PC with high-refresh display ( or Workstation computer )
- Living room (under TV) PC for casual gaming/family time
- File/Media Server in the basement/attic etc.
- Mom's PC or Son's PC ...
If they all use compatible AM4 mobos, stuff can be cycled between them.
Buy a new faster CPU for primary computer, its current CPU goes into the Living room, that CPU goes into the Media server or another person's PC and so on.
EVERYONE gets an upgrade by just buying 1 extra CPU, and cycling them through the motherboards.
I'm currently with a 3700X in my Primary, 1700 in my mother's computer (she's a Youtuber, ha !), 2200G in my mediaserver.
If I will buy a 3900XT for myself, the 3700X goes into my mother's computer (for much faster encoding/video editing workflow), her 1700 goes into the mediaserver + a cheap old GPU or just go headless, 2200G gets retired (4c/4t)

The only downside to my 3800x is the mid 40`s-50c temps on idle compared to the mid 20-30`s that i had on my 7700k, if i sold my 3800x for an xt i`d lose more selling to upgrade than i would actually gain in fps and given that the division2 only uses 25-35% of my cpu it would just be a waste of money

if you have a 3800X yes, updating to an eventual XT is obviously just going to be an headache.
