"16 June would see announcements with availability on June 7th", seems strange announcement coming after availability šŸ™‚

Most likely is july. I read somewhere that they want to be 7/7 .

The rumorers said will be 4+0 & 4+0 glued chiplets. Because one single chip on 3300X do a great job and they have plenty of 4cores chips. To cut the release of "new" chips from Intel the AMD staff will re-release this 3750-3850X series like the good old Zen+ series.

I'd be curious to see the result of that, though I'm sceptical it'd be a good idea. Across-die latency is worse than across-CCX so the only way a 4+0|4+0 configuration would be better than a 4+4 is if the Windows scheduler can tell the difference between dies but not CCXs, and aren't needing more than 4 cores for one particular task. The strength of the 3300X is really that the Windows scheduler can't mess it up by needlessly moving tasks around, as all cores are on the same die and same CCX. Adding another die breaks that.

7nm euv ? better binned ? minor tweaks that are like zen2+ but the gains where smaller than zen+ so it did not warrant new series of cpus ? did the saw the pl2 and they where like ... wait a minute we can set a state to 250 watts too ! we will see i guess :P

Sceptical too but why not. It seem that the 3300X is better at same speed than the 3100 due to cache that is not splited (haven"t seen them in action, but hilbert have tested) With AMD nothing is sure until released... so wait and see

True, without Win10 new scheduler the Ryzen 3xxx can't shine. But only rumors until June-July 2020,will see what we got. Anyway, this XT thing will be a unleashed Ryzen, more MHz and more watts, more Powah for gamers.

These are the chips that will save AMD from millions of dollars in lawsuits. From a business standpoint I totally get it, and its not a bad option. I'll say again though that I just don't see Zen 3 working flawlessly on any 400 series motherboard.

Interesting that you mention that, but can we call these "next gen"? It will be ambiguous and I don't believe it's acceptable. On another note, Zen 2 wouldn't work on 300 series chipsets either, and they work just great. I highly doubt the 400 chipset will limit Zen 3 performance in a meaningful way.

Could this be a sign that Zen 3 is delayed ? Or they are done just to rain on Intel's 10-series parade. -- I mean, I'm not complaining, if that 3900XT proves to be a decent buy, maybe I'll do another CPU-only upgrade and then use my 3700X in the other computer (which now has a low clocked 1st gen 1700) Zen 3 (4000 series) of course would be a better buy, but that might be many months away, and most likely overpriced at launch. And needs a new mobo too !

There is some talk about Zen 3 having a staggered launch, with the highend parts coming first and the lowend/mainstream sectors being covered by previous generation cpus for the time being.

I think itĀ“s going to be higher clocks, like 100Mhz, because thatĀ“s ZenĀ“s greatest weakness against Intel and because thereĀ“s not much more they can do. And if they replace the "normal" versions at the same price, itĀ“s not a bad move.

I wouldn't say delayed, but more of filler CPU's.

I will not expect more that extra 100MHz single core boost and all core clocks. maybe 150Mhz in mutlicore But i see 3 reasons AMD making them 1. They have so many good chiplets so it is waste of money to sell them as 3600x/3800x or 3900x. It is better to make XT CPU add extra 30-40$ to price and milk market 2. They where planing to give XT models just before 4000 series to quiet community that is running 300/400 chipsets series to give them something to upgrade this year. But because 400 will support Zen 3 they will still release them because they are in middle of manufacturing process already and because of point 1 3. It is response to Intel 10th gen premiere and AMD want to give better choices for customers so they will chose AMD not Intel

Didnt expected a zen2 refresh knowing zen3 is already teased being close already.

AM4 so lovely at this point ! For someone with a single gaming PC it doesn't matter much, but some of us have 3-5 PC's in their home. - Primary gaming PC with high-refresh display ( or Workstation computer ) - Living room (under TV) PC for casual gaming/family time - File/Media Server in the basement/attic etc. - Mom's PC or Son's PC ... If they all use compatible AM4 mobos, stuff can be cycled between them. Buy a new faster CPU for primary computer, its current CPU goes into the Living room, that CPU goes into the Media server or another person's PC and so on. EVERYONE gets an upgrade by just buying 1 extra CPU, and cycling them through the motherboards. I'm currently with a 3700X in my Primary, 1700 in my mother's computer (she's a Youtuber, ha !), 2200G in my mediaserver. If I will buy a 3900XT for myself, the 3700X goes into my mother's computer (for much faster encoding/video editing workflow), her 1700 goes into the mediaserver + a cheap old GPU or just go headless, 2200G gets retired (4c/4t)

We have already done one round of this in my house, my 1600 going into a new build for my daughter and replaced with a 3600, and now I have a 3900X (because I got a crazy good deal on it) and the 3600 is going into my Plex server (once there are decent 8 SATA port mobos that don't cost the earth). People discount the advantage the single socket has for getting the most bang for the buck out of your CPU purchase, but it can be really significant.

The only downside to my 3800x is the mid 40`s-50c temps on idle compared to the mid 20-30`s that i had on my 7700k, if i sold my 3800x for an xt i`d lose more selling to upgrade than i would actually gain in fps and given that the division2 only uses 25-35% of my cpu it would just be a waste of money

AMD never made a CPU with more than 8 cores but what they do is to glue 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 which reflects in its shitty overall performance. 3900x -> to get best out of it you really have to switch between creation and gaming mode followed by reboot...what a pile of crap.
Please go back into your cave. Trolls are not welcomed outside in the sun.

if you have a 3800X yes, updating to an eventual XT is obviously just going to be an headache.
