It means that you can use mods in SP but not in Online.

So if I buy the game, install and register it, and use mods but NEVER try to join a MP game, I'd be fine?

this is the message i got from that as well. it's either install mods and only play sp or don't use mods and you can play MP without getting banned.

"...no one has been banned for using single player modifications, and you should not worry about being banned or being relegated to the cheater pool just for using single player PC mods."

if you use mods in gta online you should be banned , keep the mods in the single player , and one thing rockstar deserve praise for is the quality of the pc game it looks superb on pc

Nice clearing about it. A good move from Rockstar.

Well, the question remains, what are 'single player mods'?

There was a clarifying post by some dude, lemme find it for you.
Some Q&A from R* few common questions asked, mostly Console peeps, wondering when the PC goodies are coming to them!!! few bits on their stance on Mods too!! /// quote “I’m having soo much fun with GTAV on the PC but I just have one question about it, how come you are not allowing mods for it?” - @ClarkMatthew63 “Will I get banned from GTA Online for using a FoV Mod or Oculus Rift mod?” - @Mattophobia We have always appreciated the creative efforts of the PC modding community and we still fondly remember the awesome zombie invasion mod and original GTA map mod for GTAIV PC among many other classics. To be clear, the modding policy in our license has not changed and is the same as for GTAIV. Recent updates to GTAV PC had an unintended effect of making unplayable certain single player modifications. This was not intentional, no one has been banned for using single player modifications, and you should not worry about being banned or being relegated to the cheater pool just for using single player PC mods. Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are by definition unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways. /// unquote

I'm not sure i understand the question. A single player mod, would be in single player. If you use it in multiplayer, you'll likely get banned. Including, FOV, as it's cheating (unless the developer themselves put a higher FOV in their game for multiplayer then it will always be cheating regardless if it's "too low") It's pretty self explanatory?

Modding is great and all but if you use them in mp, you deserve an mp ban.

No, it is not. So a FOV mod would be both a MP and SP mod, as you could use it in both. By definition every mod is both a MP and SP mod, as it could be used in both. So unless you refrain from using ANY mods in MP you couldn't know, as there is no way to discern a mod from being a 'SP mod' or a 'MP mod'. Pretty self explanatory, to me, is that there is nothing like a SP only mod or MP only mod, but people using mods in SP and people using mods in MP.

LOL it's really simple. You are complicating it all by yourself. If you don't understand the simple premise that playing in SP with mods is fine but not MP then I'm afraid you're really not too bright. But I don't want to assume that. Maybe you're simply being difficult?

Dude, self explanatory. Do not mod multiplayer If your multiplayer experience is different then someone elses multiplayer experience because of something you have done to the game, you deserve to get banned. And yes, modding the game mods both, while you have modded the single player, don't play the multiplayer, disable, remove, etc. all mods because playing multiplayer. There's really no question here. If you hear "Don't mod multiplayer" and you still have a question of "but what if i...." i'm not sure how much simpler it can be

This clarification is not helping. Only that I can use mods in singleplayer. Can I use FOV mod in multi or not?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/259/259676.jpg
No. Dont use any mod when mp.

Then there still is no category on a list saying SP mod or MP mod. They should have just said 'don't mod MP games or we'll ban you', and not 'SP mods'. You might be true, I might be complicating it, but they're not helping anybody with using that wording there.

They did not say 'don't mod MP', but they said 'use SP mods'. The wording is what I don't get.

"Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing" .. so make what you will of that, does FOV belong in there? I'm not sure... I don't think so, does it... ? Unfair advantage lol.... don't think so...

The feeling sick from low FOV in firstperson is part of the experience! If you aint getting sick, then your cheating. Lol. I understand that a case can be made that you can see more. But you can already see alot more just by scrolling out in thirdperson. So I don't see the big deal. I'll just hope they make the ingame FOV slider go higher.

Hmm yeah.. exactly, so not sure then if it's a bannable mod or not. I would assume not?
