There's more to game visuals that framerate and resolution. These types of effects bring immersion to a game far grater than simply "144fps 2160p HYPE" ever would. I'm glad they're doing these things personally as it's about time we had more of this stuff become the norm rather than the exception. I remember a time when games simply used a black alpha blob below characters for shadows until others games started putting in better shadow maps and pushing the overall visual quality which is now standard. Some FPS games today still don't render chest or legs which whilst it doesn't seem so important adds to a game overall and should be done more often.
Correct,such..details makes a game immersive as it should be. Previous game was optimized enough (meaning it has good engine), gameplay was great, thus said new Tomb Raider will be great to play (I do hope that it will come with full 3D Vision support as previous one too..)

Theres no reason for any that crap. THe consoles are struggling with framerates as it is. I dont imagine that this is going to help matters.
Thoses are more on the conception graphic side on the engine that extremely costly features who will eat a lot of framerates. The muscle who are connected together and not just a quads meshes skins, the clothes who act like real clothes following the body and act realistic will cost more time to developper and for 3D graphist to work with it, but it should not be much costly in term of performances. basically you define some pinned vertex point grouped with some on the body then the clothes simulation is not really much hard or costly to get.

I think all that stuff sounds far better than any tech features i've heard on any other game released in a long time. If that means the X1 version launches and is 900/30 then great, it means the PS4 will be 1080/30 and the PC will be higher or lower depending on your hardware and or preference. That trailer looks great, lets hope it makes it way over to other platforms sooner rather than later.

Now that's what a Game should look like/Be....Love it...Cant wait...Tomb Raider 2013 was awesome too...

Personally, i cant wait to see what it could be on a PC setup, with way much powerfull compute performance.. I dont know, how it will look on the end ( i can imagine, some could just be viewable on the CG scene ) , but many of thoses little details goes in the right direction . Looking at the screenshoot i have posted, we are "again" in the right PBR direction on material and lighting used.

Yep. I actually played at a lower resolution with hairworks on back when I had my 470 GTX because it made it more "lifelike". Currently my "carefactor" for this game is in sleepmode thanks to the stupid xbox exclusive. Most likely in a year or so from now I'll probably spot it somewhere, having forgotten about it, and buy it on a whim. Let's hope this thing sells better on PC/PS4 later on then XBox tbfh so that this crap never happens again.

The post that said there's no reason for any of that crap? I read it and it sounds like you'd rather they just didn't work on any additional details increasing visual fidelity where I and others agree that we're more than happy for them to add those details to improve the overall quality of the game from a visual stand point. Again, there is more to games than high res and high fps.

I take it you never played Tomb Raider on PS4? That game struggled to keep 30fps as it was and at the resolutions they were on ps4 and x1. Never once did i mention anything like your "144fps 2160p HYPE". You brought that up, not me. Might want to refrain from putting words in peoples mouths just for the sake of running your own. Dont talk to me about there being more than resolution and fps to games. You're so far out of your depth on that topic if choosing to discuss it with me. Its everyone else on this forum and the PC master race trip that spouts that 4k crap. So get off that high horse and think twice before you post. Do your research before posting. Keep in mind that this game is a timed exclusive to the X1, this means that its going to be developed with that consoles technical limitations in mind. Could careless if this was using raytracing running at 4k 144fps. The point is, devs need to stop punching above the consoles weight and wasting time with such silly features like wrinkly skin, her teeth wont shine luminescent etc etc.. These consoles have had nothing but sub par performance on the majority of releases. If they cant manage the basics of last gen ports and even the exclusives, then there are better things to be spending development time on than back muscles. Again, down from that high horse of yours.

Id like you to point out exactly where in my post i mentioned high resolutions and fps. Go on, show me. It's even be put in bold for your convenience. Oh, you cant? I guess thats because there was nothing in my post that even remotely implied such a thing. Read properly before replying, instead of looking for something to have a go about. Im not one to go running to mods because someones said something i didnt agree with. But if you want to piss me off, then intentionally misinterpreting (as you have multiple times now despite me giving you a chance to re-read what i posted) for the sake of having a go at me, is one really awesome way to get me to change my mind. But dont worry, I suppose it'll be me that gets the infraction even though you clearly went out of you way to start ****. Doors that way.

Preview and technical analysis: NX gamers. A find the video of a low quality resolution, highly compresssed, upscaling is not really good. but well... https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=10&v=vin4nKggsx4 - Dynamic day and weather system- Certain animals only available at certain times of the day - TressFX beards - Much more detailed facial animation, loses the plasticky look from the Remastered version - Fully deformable snow, snow tracks can be used to stalk or be stalked, but given the dynamic weather, tracks can be covered up - Blended animations smoother, Euphoria-like - Same engine as Remastered version - Post processing effects improved, better DOF and motion blur - Lighting improved, more accurate

1080/30 on the X1 and still looking really good. Alot of really nice effects in that video (clipping excluded) can't wait to see how the PC version turns out when it eventually turns up.

Well, so far it seems the term used by MS, point to a really limited in time exclusivity. What i hope is they could take the delay with pc release for increase even more the graphics and features.
