@ITGuru can you run your 2080ti on a 550w psu like the 3070? doubt it. lots of ppl will be better off buying something new, as when they will sell that its one gen newer and probably do better on return money.. @DannyD lol, the silicon lottery will affect perf much more than unlocking a bios, as Nv limits are still there for certain stuff.

This. I never understand why some people chime in how happy they are to be paying a new price premium. The very first time I spent $400 for a top of the line card a (BFG 8800GTS) I vowed that was the most Iā€™d ever spend on a GPU. Then last year I spent $420 on a 1070ti... a mid range, old series card. Sad days
8800 GTS for $400 was released in 2006, which would be $516 today. Therefore, your $420 spent on the 1070 ti was below what you said you'd spend on a GPU. As well, the 8800 GTS was effectively the 1070 of the 10 series 8800 GTS = 1070 8800 GT/GTS 112/GTS G92 = 1070 ti 8800 GTX = 1080 8800 Ultra = 1080 ti/Titan There was no 8700, and 8600 series by far was the 1060 of the 10 series So seems you are complaining on spending less, for the same amount. And if you can't figure out that inflation does matter, and purely basing purchasing prices on a "number" rather then its value and purchasing power, can't help you there if you don't understand how that all works. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/OaedpeUxo3YXBcLQLzgjpoY59bW5v7el2IyWkKr2izSwECtIV6xf-pC3HMCOWuGeGFeT7smPzjACgpRHiIrvR1FdL77qy8L8wf8-MP2DXwD1HJMuKt_x_0y_EQo-jZ5p53QLwqjb6iG1waqA-vNZYy8NgUf7mYz1xNg

So? You say that like it's a bad thing. The 2080 Ti is a good GPU, and this is basically as good for 40% the price.
It is what it is. Not trying to be negative, just the fact that RTX3070 doesn't beat RTX2080Ti at everything. I was under the assumption that it did due to Nvidia's presentation.

ITGuru:

Almost all are synthethic benchmarks except for a few specific games, so it is official the 2080 TI is still the KING and those Youtube benchmarks are horseshait, and with extra 3 gb of ram it makes sense to buy a second-hand one instead of 3070. I bet the 2080TI eats 3070 in every other game, hence tons of benchmarks and only few games are shown.
Now that the review is out, it's time to go "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" šŸ™‚
