Ok so this makes me wonder. This FUMA2 is almost double the size and lighter than AS500 also slightly worse in performance. My guess is that AS500 has copper fins since it's that heavy for the thin profile? Would explain the great performance too.
I do not think there are copper fins , most likely the as500 has more tightly sucked fins , so higher surface to dicipate heat , a more spread fin array will glog with dust harder but is not an issue if you clean your PC every now and then. What I suspect is that your heavier as500 might be smaller but has more thermal capacity because there is more metal to absorb the heat and also has in total bigger surface to dicipate the heat , this is why it performs better.

Scythe didn't properly update their cooler designs and lost their crown to Deepcool or Thermalright.

I have the original FUMA2 and I was wondering if the fans used for the Rev B are available separately? Because while the original performs admirably, more cooling performance is always welcome and if the fans are not too expensive this would make a quick and simple upgrade path available. I couldn't find anything about these fans being available for purchase on the Scythe site, so does anybody have any information about this?

I think it's cool that Scythe's still around. Thanks for the review Hilbert
