what a strange case 6800 is.I mean overall, not just in sam performance. 18% slower than 6800xt in legion,4% in cp2077

Beside vallhalla its not bringing a world of difference and in some cases games even run better with rbar off. It will be interesting if the trend continues with new gpus/cpus so every game sees benefit not only few.

once again Valhalla makes AMD look amazing. Those gains are quite impressive. Too bad no other game really benefit either manufacturer.

Thanks for the test, a lot of work and good job .I will leave rebar on my PC on.

Maybe there's something about the new console generation, based on the Zen architecture, that encouraged AMD to start experimenting with resizable bar on the PC side. Consoles have a unified memory for the APU, after all.

You are on to something.

As expected, Watch Dogs Legion has stuttering associated with ReBar. It has been reported repeatedly since ReBar was released and it is again confirmed here. Even though Nvidia white-listed it, it should be turned off for Watch Dogs Legion.

Ah yes, that would definitely confirm what we're seeing in the frametime plots.

And please enlighten us how this CPU is biased ?

He probably doesn't like the fact that it has twice the cores and uses less power. It's quite unrealistic in the world of intel, therefore - use something realistic.

and as to why it now all of the sudden is so trendy, is a bit of an enigma...
I think it's quite obvious why that is so.. Nvidia is innovating some heavy duty features like DLSS and Ray Tracing, so what is small fish AMD to do when lacking those big features? They must refrain from even mentioning them, since they're unable to compete.. But the have to offer something! So what do they offer? Any suggestions? They have to offer SOMETHING to at least give an appearance that they are in "leadership position", and to throw a bone to their fanboys... That's why they're going with these somewhat trivial semi-nonsensical features like SAM, sharpening tools, anti-lag, etc.. It gives them plenty of marketing materials... Which then also forces Nvidia to offer those same features. But in the end one can say that both companies are innovating goodies for us, AMD is just offering different ones. As for the real features, JUST WAIT. 🙂

The 1080p results look promising for nVidia but soon as you up it to 1440p or 4K then the results are within testing variances. It's seems nVidia are better at 1080p but AMD get better results at 1440p/4K. Like people have already said, this method isn't anything new but still there could be future updates/patches that help make Re-bar work much better.

Yeah, I'm not going there for some time. My current experience is great at slightly lower res than UHD (with 3090 + 10700K) and its gonna be a right pita getting my hard drives/SSDs off CSM, plus all the updates required for REBAR. I'll wait until I encounter a problem it will fix.

The PCIe 4.0 implementation could have an effect, though personally I highly doubt it.

I don't know if using intel or amd makes any difference, but will your face be red when it turns out it doesn't.
