Until 20.1.1, I hadn't had any issues at all. After reinstalling Windows10 and installing 20.1.1, I suddenly started having black screen issues. Immediately updated to 20.1.2 and the issues were reduced, but still present....guess I'll try 20.1.3 next.....or I'll just scrap the system and start over. We'll see how things go with other issues I'm having....

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2060 OC 6G and KFA 2 2060 is in stock in Norway, with the "same" price as 5600xt 🙂

I have been affected by random black screens back when I bought a Powercolor R9 290, sent it for rma and they told me nothing is wrong with the card. Long story short, I sold it and got a nvidia gtx 970, after the 970 I got a gigabyte 980ti and currently I have a galax 2080 ti. Never had a singe issue with them. I would most definitely pay a little extra for peace of mind. I would never want to experience those random black screens again, just a horrible experience.

Could someone find a way to bypass the artificial gpuclock limiter and see how much can these push the clock ?

Precisely. Few here will for instance remember that when Vista was released Nvidia cards caused about 40% of the crashes. There have even been drivers which burn the card up. My reason for mostly using Ati/AMD was that Nvidia used inferior RAMDAC so the picture quality was worse, the cards had more voicecoil whining and rendered some things in the Thief games wrong. My brother has a 5700XT and he seems to have trouble with booting at times, but I'm unsure at this time whether this is a bug with the v-card or the motherboard.

This morning I had another black screen while browsing and listening to a song on YT, and I have the latest drivers 20.1.3. Very quick fix for it, I turned the monitor off and on, and voilà everything was working fine again.

I have had various ati cards over the years without issues, the incident I experienced with the R9 290 infuriated me to the point I had to spent my money elsewhere. That was the first time in my experience with pc's I had to sell the part to resolve the problem. So yeah, the competition was more expensive, and I never experienced an issues that was not fixable since I decided to switch. I have seen a lot of threads and reports of black screening and it reminded me of my experience with it.

Microsoft was the cause of 99% of those crashes.

Both companies have had issues with "black screen".... I had a GF5600XT that did it, a 9600GT that did it, a 560Ti that did it. I've also had an HD4850 that did it (reference cooler design failure), an HD7870 that did it and now my FX5700 has been doing it the last week. It's really not as widespread an issue as people are made to believe by forum posts.

You must be really unlucky to experience it on all those cards, my 4870 and 5850 were some of the best gpu's I ever owned, no issues at all. Did you by any chance rma those cards you say were faulty with black screens, or have you found a solution yourself to fix the problem? If you experienced it on all of your above mentioned gpu's it might be more widespread than you believe. I can understand driver issues and software lockups, those issues are unavoidable, but hardware lock ups like black screens and blue screens are unacceptable to me. I expect my gpu to work 100 percent.

At my location, this card costs only ~9EUR less then Gaming Z 5700, but costs much more than Sapphire Pulse 5600XT, making it an absolutely nonsense choice for anybody

Any link to forum or any site where i could keep myself updated? Coz i am pretty much interested in how much a somehow mature 1st gen 7nm node could clock and also how much can a 5600xt catch up with its big brother rx5700 .... even though i dont plan to buy any of those in near future 😛

I remember very clearly reading 40%, but the number is not that important so I won't waste time in looking it up again, point is of course that they all do a bad job from time to time. I had tons of trouble with rx480 when cloning the screen to the TV and then turning it off after the movie and it took AMD something like 6 months to fix it, but now my 5700 works just fine so I'll keep it for at least one more year unless I absolutely need raytracing.

Nah, many simply released crap drivers. I certainly remember for once having major trouble with Creative Labs soundcard drivers, but as I liked XP more than Vista it didn't really matter that much anyway.

And the worst is Creative never really fixed them. I eventually had to install home made drivers by some random guy to stop getting the crackle pop problem with my X-Fi Platinum card under Vista.
