Seems the Ti is way overkill for my goal, which is 1440p60. That said, i do plan on skipping 2 generations so next upgrade would be with the RTX 7000 series. Maybe i'll just wait and see what the regular 4070 is like, as long as it has 12GB VRam. Also seems PNY has the best noise/temp ratio.

Great review Boss. If the price was around ~$499-$599 maybe it would be an ok card but this prices are ridiculous for this xx70 class card.

Except for RTX, the 6950XT looks like a better deal.

Have you checked the "Power consumption" chart?

To me these cards are crap if you dont use dlss which i dont as i hate the ghosting issues it still has, if you want raytracing on in some games and only at 1080p your getting just over 60fps and am sure there will be parts in some games it will dip under 60fps Clearly they are only focusing on dlss to save there ass to go look see big numbers, people like big numbers

it is a better deal and WAY better @4K where you can go ultra settings - where 12GB doesn't cut it. just sat thru the most boring "news conference" (Nvidia) yesterday that was more about how to sell the 4070ti over existing stock.

stop being delusional in thinking you can see those "ultra" settings.

Nvidia is lying and tricking customers again. Dont buy this for $1000. Its a scam and not worth it. You dont need raytracing and if you turn it on even with dlss its laggy, problematic and hard for developers to properly implement it. Frame generation is only available on patched games and that is very very few of them at the moment and also titles that you have already played most likely for more than long. DLSS is nice though, so only use this to get 4k120fps on most games. But you can use a cheaper rtx 3080 or higher series card to achieve that anyway. Its a bad deal from Nvidia this time around. 999 dollars for a mid-gen card is ridicilous. They do it so that you are tricked to buy the 2000+ dollars rtx 4090 which is the only option for a serious upgrade, but totally over priced... Go watch the linus tech tips review.

i don't play 1st person shooters so in many of my games 50-60 fps @ 4K is fine if i get that eyecandy. nothing delusional about it

both get way more than that at 4K. 7900xt is no more than 8-9% faster than 4070ti at 4K as far as fringe cases/eye candy goes, 4070Ti will win a few rt games by a lot more than 7900xt wins that far cry 6. wins cp2077 with ultra rt by nearly 50%. Not even taking into account the difference of rtgi+rtao+rt shadows and rt reflections against a texture pack in another crappy far cry game. it's there to literally just fill up the vram on 3080 in an amd sponsored game that has an artificial 80% vram fill limitation anyway. funny when ppl need vram for "eye candy", but don't need ray tracing at the same time.

20 fps over my 3080 SuprimX 10g is not enough.... not at launch, may be in a year when the hype dies down, besides lit looks like they've cut down on the rgb bling.

Yep, the PNY RTX 4070 Ti it's gonna be. - Has a very beefy cooler, covers the entire surface. - Seems easy to deshroud. - Power connector is at a standard 92mm width. - Disabling RGB seems as easy as unplugging the cable. Ticks all my boxes basically, except perhaps the price. But i plan on keeping it for 5 years or more, so then the price is a non-issue.

My RX 6950XT also under volts quite well, with less than a 5% performance hit.

These cards are pretty much what the 4080 12gb was before, no?

They are exactly what it was intended to be, yes.

PPL undervolt the RX GPUs and FPS per $ now with the 6950XT on disocunts, it is a better deal. The only reason I would consider the 40x0 series for way way better 4K RTX without DLSS fudge smearing and its not really there yet.

Well the “bang for buck” chart really says it all, doesn’t it? The 4070Ti (and 4080) aren’t justifiable anywhere near MSRP when the 7900 cards exist. Nvidia is trying to force the market into a state where prices permanently reflect the crypto booms of 2017 or 2021 with the lower 40xx cards (…4090 begrudgingly gets a pass being a halo card without direct competition). I hope AMD follows suit with their current pricing and launches maintstream 7800 models that further gut this abysmal pricing from Nvidia. The 4070ti looks like an excellent card… at $500-600.

You have a contradiction in your summary and conclusion. Under "Performance" you have "Yes, the RTX 4070 Ti provides more value for the money than seen from the 4080." Yet on page 28 "Bang for the buck" the chart clearly shows the 4080 provides more value for money.
