Looks like the 7700 is the smexiest of the bunch yet it still looks a bit meh if you take the entire platform into it: AM4/DDR4 costs vs AM5/DDR5. 5800X3D is still OP.

@Aniboom exactly what I wanted to comment ... maybe this is way the 5800x3D increased in price. As it beets the 7000 series ... in quite a lot of games. ( and you don't need to buy DDR5 and AM5 mobo ) Ques the 5800x3D will be my next upgrade from 3800x , this way I can keep the mobo , ram ... and my pc will serve me for 5 to 7 years

@IchimA After reading your comment I just checked some local retailers and noticed how some of them just started hiking up the price. There are still some sellin' the 5800X3D for about 350eur but most of them jumped to almost 500eur LOL.

tty8k:

To me the whole new series seems pointless compared to 13k. I would just release the 7k3D and be done with it lol (as in, thats the only one that matters at this point)
As a Linux and mITX user, the 13600K is overall a worse product than the 7700. Slightly slower, more power hungry, roughly same cost. In Windows, the 13600K seems to have more of a performance edge. I'm not willing to spend more than $300 on this and I'm not a fan of the motherboard selections (particularly the price) but I'd rather upgrade my GPU first anyway. I'm curious how much more efficiently this can run when undervolting. It already seems to see a proportionately greater difference in power draw compared to performance against the 7700X, so I figure there is likely more potential.

Well i like it, a lot. It performs extremly well, very close to the X version but runs much cooler and it`s much cheaper. But there are 2 big problems: 1st - the silly prices of MBs, even the B650 ones are expensive!... 2nd - the 13600KF is such a sexy beast for gaming! Anyway, i`m interested, specially if i can find one below 350€. One question, can we raise the TDP to higher values, like 85W? Great review as always!

Makes no sense vs 13600k.
