Brilliant work! This guy is a one-man development team himself.

Daym, did the voice actors work for free?

It is a really well done mod. I have played though a good chunk of it. If you get one mod for skyrim get this one, pretty much a free DLC. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37994//? The voice acting is really decent so far (the kid voices almost sound the same from the game itself). It also has it's own great sound track (even it's own bard songs). Really worth the half a gig download.

"He employed 29 voice actors to record new dialog for his NPCs, and recruited over a 100 total people to help him with Falskaar." Please.. that alone can cost well over $500,000.. Anyone seen the voice actors rates? And he employed 29 of them ? And this silly marketing story has been spread on the 'net claiming that this would be a poor teenager, a computer wiz ? He would be a very rich one.. but then what skills he got ? Either the guy is very rich from a rich family with connections in the industry and so he hired people to get the job done... OR it's just a marketing myth created on the 'net for marketing reasons, the whole work was just done by Bethesda themselves, these are all Bethesda employees and it's all about smoke screens. Nowadays multinationals marketing departments really love to come up with these silly stories claiming that teenagers and college/university students could make wonders with no experience to get hired.... But this is among the most pathetic attempts, still many naive people believe this marketing c*ap.

Never played Skyrim. It just didn't appeal to me, but I understand it does have some seriously dedicated fans and can believe someone would do something like this.

He didn't employ anyone, they all donated lines for free. And he's been posting on the development forum on Bethesda for a while now recruiting people and managing the mod. Also this doesn't seem that unbelievable, there have been mods in the past just as complex that received little to no attention, this one just seemed to get lucky in terms of game press coverage.

Yeah sure.. 129 people, many if not all professionals would work for free for a kid to get him hired by a software house... Please.. Stop with the fairy tales. You can't really be that naive. Unless you see cows flying around your house...

There have been more ambitious projects that received far less attention and ones that received similar. I'm not sure why this seems so far fetched.

I don't even understand why it's even a question as to whether or not the mod is real... it's finished, download it.
