So.... it's just the gamecube version but SLIGHTLY better textures, widescreen support, and support for HD screens.

It's PS3/360 footage, I assume so anyway because the released screenshots for it have been and the trailer is 720p/30fps. I don't think there will be much difference though or they would be showing off the next gen versions instead. They have released a Resident Evil Revelations 2 teaser as well. I was cynical before i watched that trailer, went into expecting a flashy remake of the original with modernised gameplay that felt nothing like the original. It ended up being the opposite, worse than PS3 visuals and what looks like identical gameplay. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing yet, i'm sure i would enjoy it at the start but after abit i can see all the dated things driving me mad. If it's £9.99 i will likely pick it up though, anything more and i doubt it.

lol it'd probably be cost the same to buy the GC version and a gamecube itself (used).

That would be extra new bits of new/old tech and wires, would rather buy the GC game use Dolphin, would also look better. As long as this is playable and bearable visually i'm sure i will enjoy going through it again. Just had a look at the screens from that RE4 HD Texture mod, very very impressive.

How do you buy a GC game and play it in an emulator? GC discs are written in reverse and can't be read by standard optical drives. Wii games you can probably rip from a regular DVD drive, though I'm not entirely sure on that either.

I loved original game and finished it many times without saving or using medsprays (just herbs were allowed) this was quite challenging and frustrating on occasion. Now this looks really disappointing! it is 2014 you know, I wonder if they saw how games look these days. I mean this game has static cameras meaning they could made it look super realistic (read scary). If they have no money I am sure many fans with proper CGI skills would gladly help nearly or for free. Look at the mods to skyrim, people have real talents. It is obvious that here they just want to make quick money on something already sold few years back. Definitely NOT buying it!

You dont. What you do is download Dolphin use the SVN version and download the game and run it through the emulator. Saves time, saves hassle, saves space. The marvels of technology advancement:) Am i missing the trick here? Res Evil 4 was modded with HD texture packs years ago, i played it through to the end. As far as i see it this is just an Official texture pack by Capcom.....meh.
