Razer? No thanks, never again. Maybe we can see something similar from other manufacturers in future, which dont make their products break after 4-5months. However I dont see much point for this hybrid-technology. Using myself oldie 6gv2 keyboard with O-rings, in combination gives an amazing smooth typing experience. I doubt this hybrid can offer something similar, besides how do they plan to keep it mechanical? I assume it will be something similar to Blue/ Brown switch with a rubber feeling to it. Yuck. And ofc RGB.... what is life without RGB now 🤓

There's nothing revolutionary or unique about these so called hybrid keyboards. They have been around for years. In fact I got one last year but returned it a day later as the key press noise had an annoying high pitch. Of course the particular design from each individual manufacturer will differ (to avoid patent cases), but in general, it's nothing new.

My Naga, N. Epic, and Spectre are still working after years of constant use. Agreed on the hybrid thing. Blues are way more comfortable than any membrane keyboard I've ever used. I don't know why anyone would want these keyboards for MSRP.

My Blackwidow Ultimate has lasted me four years now and two spillings. But the only reason for that is that it's v1.0 with Cherry MX blue switches and a steel plated pcb. The "razer" parts of it (ie, the plastics) are horrible garbage. EDIT: "Traditionally, users choose membrane rubber dome keyboards for comfort". Who writes their press releases? Who selects rubber domes for "comfort"? What?

iv had razer products for years(7years) now, never had something go wrong with them, I normally upgrade mouse/keyboard every 2 years unless something really awesome is released, My Razer mamba and blackwidow X are amazing! the software on the other hand.... lets not go there lol.

Exactly my thoughts. The ONLY reason people choose rubber dome is because they are cheap AND/OR they have never used a mechanical keyboard. And since most OEM computers come with super cheap/crappy keyboards and users generally never upgrade the keyboard OR mouse, they are stuck with a really crappy experience which they get used to. I can't even stand to type on a membrane keyboard anymore. I can tolerate a laptop keyboard, but only when I don't have an external keyboard with me or don't have room to use an external keyboard.

Yeah, I even had a GF back in the day that said "wow this keyboard types so smoothly". She had 0 clue about mechanical switches. So tbh even for clueless users mechanical keyboards feel better if you don't mind higher buttons. Though for me personally the biggest feature is lifespan. Every rubber dome keyboard I've owned lasted me ~1 year.

It's a tactile perception thing. I haven't seen a single person not preferring switches or springs or anything "mechanical" to rubber domes.

Why there are never no news or reviews about SteelSeries products? 🙁

I have the Razer BlackWidow Chroma but it's very loud, so I'd like to find something more quiet and this looks like the solution. I'd go for the Corsair Strafe MX Silent but it's so expensive.

Man I still use Boomslangs from 1999 I have 4 x 2000's & 2 x 1000's all still work flawlessly. I own many other Razer mice Boomslang Collectors Edition, Diamondback, Lachesis & a Deathadder 2013 edition as well as many keyboards but I still prefer the original Boomslangs which in my opinion are way better than any laser, 3g or 4g mice they are the perfect weight & size & Karna components baby ! 😉 .

You are one of the lucky ones! there are an ever increasing number of Razer customers who have had horrendous experiences with their equipment, myself included. Paid $140 for a Razer Mamba 2012 when it came out, accompanied that with a Razer Vespula mousepad. I thought i was being unfair to Razer as i had been bashing on them for some time before this, when my logitech G9 died at the time i was in desperate need for a new mouse, being in a rural town the only mice the shop had that were remotely decent enough to game on were Razer, so i took the plunge and got the mouse, and treated myself to the new pad whilst i was at it. the mamba's side buttons fell off within 4 months, i got it replaced under warranty, then the side grips came off the following mouse, and the buttons also fell off somewhat later on the replacement. As for the vespula mousepad, that wore out in a disappointingly short amount of time. since then i moved off the mamba to a significantly cheaper, not so many frills logitech G602 and G440 hard mouse surface and have been a happy camper. Needless to say i would never buy a razer product again, and have been actively persuading people to go anywhere else before they choose razer when pressed for a recommendation. Disclaimer: everyone should take my opinions for what they are: my opinions! I love logitech, and i hate razer.
