I would personally have preferred a version without the subwoofer. Such things take a lot of space and a sleek soundbar would have been enough.

soundbars CANNOT reproduce surround sound, i don't care what level of giimmickry they tack on to it.

Does the RGB coloring result in 256.1 Surround Sound?

Remember, folks, it's a "GAMING" sound bar, not just any old soundbar, which makes so much difference in the price--and, it's worth every penny! The MIT-resident Razer engineers have determined that using a "GAMING" prefix nameplate stamped in bold lettering on the outside of the soundbar, where it will distract the attention of the E-Sports player, produces a psychological boost in nervous-system performance such that E-Sports improvements of .0001899 pAMPs have been recorded when using the GAMING soundbar (pAMPs is the new E-Sports dialectic body metric discovered by Razer engineers that means "performance amperage" as generated by the human body during GAMING)! When it comes to GAMING, Razer has you covered!

Me thinks am gonna stick to my logitech Z5500s in my man cave which have yet to be beaten many years later even by the newer Z906, which I have in the Lounge for the TV etc both offer true surround and proper THX dolby etc and both use optical or or digital coax or even direct sound with a huge sub which can be subtle but room shaking at the same time

Biggest problem, its Razer. If the gaming requirement means the need for a driver, it or the PC may need to be logged in online for it to function fully.

Aside from that, the big problem is its a soundbar. You will not get proper dispersion, soundstage, imaging as you would from decent bookshelf or tower speakers. It will be a good upgrade over the TV speakers, but it ends there.

I fully agree, that was already covered by other members so I didnt expand on it. I cannot stand soundbars and actually have no centre speaker in my surround system, it works so much better using an AVR to route centre audio to the front pair instead. Mid front sound comes from the centre of the display where a speaker cannot be placed and spreads out from there. And as you say, the quality of speakers doesnt need to suffer. I use the Kef Reference 1 mounted on 2x SVS SB3000 subs, out of this world! (disabling the centre speaker in Windows can result in losing all centre channel audio with some video/audio software, this is why I use an AVR to reroute it instead, it never fails.)
