I guess Razer want to follow Logitech who released some outstanding THX certified speakers. Whether or not they continue with their cheap quality is another thing. I'll stay positive though.
The Z2300 2.1 from Logitech even to this day are an amazing little pair. I had mine 8 years ago and quality and performance are better than the Corsair SP2500.
Yes, I know sound is subjective and monitor speakers etc etc are better But considering the desk space I have available, I'll only changes these when they actually no longer work.

Maaaaan I still miss my creative S750 Gigaworks 7.1 700watt surround sound for my PC. Damn thing died on me so many years ago, but I still have the carcass sitting in my garage waiting for someone skilled/crazy enough to delve into this bad boy!

Think more along the lines of a new revenue stream for Razer. Like with all acquisitions, time will tell how this shakes. Currently Razer is stating that THX will operate as an independent entity. If they are going to survive in a global economy, they are needing to diversify...this is their first shot. If Razer crumbles, they will fold themselves into THX.

Razes buys THX, thus rendering an already useless certification, even more useless.

All the certification meant was that the source signal was still the same, in nature, by the time it has finished going through all processing and exits your speakers. It has never said anything outside of signal processing. There are many levels of THX certification. Not many outside the industry realize this and associate sound quality with the certification. The sound one hears can be absolute garbage but the signal being processed has not been significantly altered.

That's some mighty fall from grace.
Guess we got audio down to a T then if a company like that can be bought over by a gaming peripheral company.

mine Z906 going so fking stronk 😀 i hope that does not mean we gonna get cheap ass products, i had two razer mice(abyss and deathadder 3500) and both made of cheap plastic, stopped working after exactly 1 years, yet mine Roccat Kone XTD serves me 3+ years.

Guess THX will start charging in the wrong currency when shipping items and offer crap customer support.

All of you cannot compare the Quality of a product from 2000 era to today's era.You Can't!
In 2016 the consumer products are made it to least 2 years, max 3,after that you Must buy a new one.
Razer milking customers like some others company or corporations.
Today you are a great client-a friend of our company, tomorrow (after 2 years) you are a scum if you not buy our new product, the most advanced product Ever created. :eatme2:

Razor hardware is total garbage, had the black widow 2013 lasted just over 1 year then keys started failing, deffo not worth the cost, I also have a cheap £5 keyboard from Tesco's from yerars back and still works the same as it did the day I bought it.
another over hyped load of junk company.
i'd never buy an Razor product in my life.. over hyp[ed junk made as cheap as humanly possible and then hyped up and sold at childish prices.
mugs game.
