Well they tested games... now I'd only be interested in 1080p graphs (still the most common gaming resolution if steam hardware survey is anything to go by). Also, was BF1 run in dx11 or dx12? Doom in OpenGL or Vulkan?
Ofc they do it in DX12/Vulkan,because these APIs are the future now and they gave the best performance for Radeon RX. (On Nvidia side surely they do it in Dx12/Vulkan for the sake of accuracy)

Well, nice that they are the future, but it's the two year old issue, it does not show the whole picture, because there are still more than enough dx11 games out that people want to play now, and not every implementation of dx12 is yet superior to dx11. That's why I'm waiting on Hilbert's more comprehensive show of the current game and engine environment.

We still have Dx11 games because of Windows 7,is still good OS. Its hard to make good DX12 API games, because is new API and hard to handle for some devs.

I'm gonna sit and wait for the review.

Was it a down clocked GTX 1070 cause i have a higher fps in DOOM and Battlefield 1 at 1440P, my performance is more like the RX Vegan with a GTX 980 Ti

In usual official benches they test it with original clock. They will OC it later.

Pretty spot on. Yet, if we're talking about water cooling, compare apples to apples and run both a 1070 and a 1080 water cooled against Vega 56 and 64 respectively. Not sure they'll win lots in comparison if every chip is OCed to their maximum under water. Don't get me wrong, the Vega56 still looks like a great card, better bang for the buck than the Vega64 to me personally, but don't get in heads over heals and compare an overclocked Vega56 to a 1080Ti, that's a comparison AMD can't win. Even Vega64 is compared to the 1080 by AMD themselves. What's yet to see is how the board partner's cards will OC and how water cooled Vega64 performs, these are the real questions, and probably the best selling cards of AMD's lineup anyway.
Biggest problem i see for vega's oc capability is the monsterous tdp @1600+,the FE didn't seem to have problems hitting 1600+ it is just massively tdp limited, i'd imagine it will need >475 watts to reach its maximum oc without poor clock scaling. Probably Easier to cool a 1080ti with a high tdp bios/powermod. :eyes:

AIB Vega56 models are not even available, only ASUS announced its own AIB version, so this test is with a reference model (though it may be OCd).

and does it cost $329?

The table Hilbert posted in the news article says Vega56 should cost $399.

Where can you buy a 1070 for $329?

interesting times ahead me thinks. Just as i thought only the interesting battles would be in GOT lol

Not impressed, I'm looking forward to some actual reviews first. Price doesn't matter much at this point, I mean you can hardly find a 1070 here and when you do it's way more expensive than at launch 1.5 years ago (even the 1080 Ti is quite a bit more expensive now than when I got mine). It will be the same with Vega, the miners will drive prices up no matter what.

AMD already described Vega 56 as king of the $399 price point, which is why they postponed the RX Vega 56 launch to increase supply. AMD's BF1 slide shows 98 fps @ 1440p for 'RX Vega' so that's probably the 64.

Yeah, and comparing this to AMD's official slides and then against benchmarks for the 1070 it just looks fake. 72.2fps showing up twice as well looks suspicious or a typo. I wonder if this will sell at $399, these days the official etail price is never what they are.

AMD already admitted the 1080ti was faster lol.

since years i am using nvidias GTX560,660,760.......n60... The Vega 56 will be a good replacement...

Guru3d has 80 fps for BF1, TPUp 84 fps. But yeah, it can mean many different things. 1. It's a typo, and BF1 is higher. 2. He tested BF1 on a different map than Guru3D or TPUp 3. It is just completely fake. Anyway, all released cards started at their MSRP, so it shouldn't be different with the Vega. When mining fever gets its hand on these cards, well, then it will climb higher. But at start, it will be 400$ for reference and maybe 430-450 for AIB models.
