I can see this card selling really well since it comes with starfield.

610€ for the cheapest model (PowerColor) I found... I was hoping for something which could beat 4070 and force Nvidia to drop prices, but does not look like it. Damn. Not sure which one buy, 7800 or 4070...

If this had been released at the same time with 4070, it would have been a difficult decision for me, although Starfield might have made me go for this (because Nvidia offered no games for the deal, as far as I'm concerned). More memory, higher traditional raster performance, and about the same RT performance. The power consumption is higher, though, which is unfortunate. It would have been difficult decision. But, alas, this was released very late.

Very nice, i could have gotten this as well but would have probably grabbed a new power supply if ever so it evens out i guess

Exactly as expected. Re-release of 6800XT it is. AMD made a typo and added two more letters to the RX 7800.

Great review as always @Hilbert Hagedoorn , well done Boss. Not good , not bad , just a 6800xt copycat. Wait for it to come down in price and only then it will be a good choice. Overall a meh ... product 😛

Why do u have really poor 3dmark result for 6800XT? looks like u never run any new benchies to old cards with new drivers. My 6800xt gets 19,450 stock.

Numbers look good I'd say. Especially surprised to see them go toe to toe in the picked tests for ray tracing.

Newegg (USA) actually has many models for $500 w/Starfield. Cheaper than the 6800 xt by a little.

6800xt is officially dead. No one should be buying one when you can get 7800xt for the same price or less. Used market is another thing tho still alot of 6700/6800 cards at affordable price.

Where can I get 7800 XT for 440€? As that was the best price for a 6800 XT (+Starfield) so far.

I've never seen 6800xt going that low even when it had higher stock. Just get the 7800xt :P

Well, had this been released sooner, not only would Starfield not exist to be paired with it but the drivers would've been less optimized. So, I think you'd have ended up with the 4070 anyway. Considering this is AMD's largest market, it was wise of them to refine the divers first.

I suspect prices for the 6700s and 6800s will drop substantially within a month, because it doesn't make sense to sell them for what they are at the moment.

It's not really a frequency cap rather it's allowed TGP (power budget). An X amount of Wattage will result into so much performance/clocks (with a bit of tweaking leeway).

Ah I see, still unfortunate.

If 6800XT drops to 349 or 399, or 6900XT drops to 449, those would be the price to buy. Good to have slightly better RT and AVC encoding, but since FSR runs on 6x00Xt series, might be better to wait for price drops.

"Can I copy your homework?" "Yeah just change it up a bit so it doesn't look obvious you copied" The copy: 7800 XT
