Awesome. More hardware most people won't be able to get their hands on until many months later.

I would like to say I don't want to wait and will buy a 3060 Ti instead, but who am I kidding? Even if I ordered one today, I might only get it when that 6700 is also (supposedly) released.

They might as well "release" it today. Stock will be non existent for months anyway.

Well they have to send out the entire initial batch to every youtuber first anyway.

My RTX 3090 purchase is looking better every day LOL. At least I've got a new GPU without resorting to scalpers.

Well, if time is money, then, 6months is worth a lot of money. That's why imho early adopters actually get best bang for buck. If prices stay the same a year later, then, obviously the guy who bought early would've got an extra year out of it. That's pretty much what happened with Pascal.

Used GPU prices have risen too. I could sell my RX5700XT for ~400€ (500$) easy. Vega56's goes for 250€ used. Even old Hawaii cards are going for up to 100€. Best time to sell your old GPU is now. (If you don't mind sitting out the prices.) All thanks to lack of supply, scalpers and miners.

Can we make it legal to deal with the last two, please?

That card just doesn't make any sense. 449$ US for a 3060? Unless the card is as powerful as a 3070 there's no much point for it to have 12GB of vram. If it's as powerful as a 3070 then why call it a 3060?

Are you asking me to explain nvidia naming scheme mess? 3060/3070 is powerfull enough to utilize 12gb and that is what should have been in the first place. Why nvidia did this is beyond me.

In Portugal we still feel the effects of the mining frenzy, with the pandemic is due to get worse and worse. It will be years before we see any improvement, if at all.

3060 with 12 gigs is nice slap to the face of 3070 users , that 8 gig will hurt sooner or later , powerful card otherwise.

Pascal was an anomaly in that supply was available at launch. but as it was long lived you're still right.

Guys n' Gals please. it is rare in the entire consumer electronics industry - from computers to bluetooth speakers - for any product to be available at launch. and the reason is not what you think. the reason is the tradition leftover from the print industry - lead time. the first sample runs had to be produced, then sent to (print) reviewers, who then had to send their article to an editor, who then sent it to the designer, who then sent it to the typesetter which then sent sample proofs back to the publisher, which then orders the printers to print. yes, it did take months. could everyone just wait? yes, but the pressure to feed the hype beast is immense.

I didn't think about that. I hope the mining boom will be furious, but then suddenly fizzle out into thin air soon enough. I might even consider buying a secondhand video card that way.
