I don't believe I'm a likely purchaser of the RX 5500, but if I was, I'd likely avoid these Gigabyte models. The shroud and backplate look strikingly similar to a friends GTX 1660 Super I had a chance to examine, and unfortunately not only was the backplate on that card constructed entirely of plastic, but also the diagonal "vents" that appear to be present are simulated. At least the ASRock card's backplate appears as though it *might* be aluminum, or hopefully something a bit more thermally conductive than polystyrene. Maybe not.

Nowadays, Ill avoid GPUs from Gigabyte. Sorry, but I had my share of repairing some, and wasn't pleasant. Not that in itself is a pleasant experience, but quality lacks in GPU departament.

Must agree with anticupidon. In my country, GB cards are the cheapest to get, but that doesn't mean we should get a card with subpar cooling and rattling fans with random rpm speed when idle.

Yeah, Gigabyte fans are so low quality.

Idk i think gigabyte improved alot with their Aorus branding. This 580 xtr is so overbuild i actually changed my mind of them being cheap.

I have AORUS RTX 2060, it's better for sure than the cheapest model, but for an extra 130 dollars? Thankfully I got it for a better price, but still...

Yeah i like the look of Aorus RTX gpus. Good looking but i heard cooling is average.

As far as I am concerned, Gigabyte is to be avoided, entirely. Inconsistency means unreliability.

The first and last Gigabyte graphics card I had was a GTX560Ti.... That card was always a bit iffy.... I think I'll stick with MSI for the foreseeable future.

Ok, let's not turn this thread in a Gigabyte complain list. We are spoiled for choice, so maybe reviews will show if quality improved, or not. Either way, we will wait for Guru3D review, HH will have his way with those cards!

EVGA and MSI have always been first two choices for gpus.

Msi is the literaly same crap as the gigabyte. You are deciving yourselfs. That evoke 5700 is the worst one yet. Nvidia - Evga Amd - Sapphire

^^ I have to respectfully disagree with that. My current Ventus model runs just as quiet and cool as a higher priced model for a lot less money. Plus I've been running it at a perfectly stable +140 core and +600 on the memory with no issues since I've had it.

So seeing that it only has a 128-bit bus, wonder how much the NAVI core is starved for bandwidth. I could see this card really benefiting from a decent memory OC, Polaris had a huge improvement with better memory clocks and timings that's for sure.
