"IF TRUE" I'm gonna cry on the dust of AMD lol. Zen CPU might become their only hope lol.

Jesus ****ing Christ... What's going on with AMD!?! i mean, all roads were leading to a impressive Polaris lineup, with the GPU brand now standalone and how great fury and older gpu's are handling dx12 and so..this sh!t smells weird, i can't believe the Radeon group, who is making GPU's for how long now and who pushed on the market most of the GPU tech we are using today, is having this kind of problems with their chips. Something stinks.

Wow if true that could be diabolical!

Some rumors to make competition to fall asleep on their big cash.

Errr ..rumors,bias???Nvidia rushed their new Pascal, which looks like Maxwell v2.

It's just a rumor for now. Hope is not true. This would be bad for everyone.

Pascal is more than Maxwell V2. This is a very dumb comment.

That doesn't even make sense. If it isn't true then Nvidia's schedule is unchanged.

They didn't rush Pascal, Pascal if anything is late. The design was done a while ago, manufacturing held it back. Volta is launching in 2017 for the HPC market. They have a contract with Oak Ridge for SUMMIT super computer.

This would be some bad news ;( Let's hope it don't get confirmed 🙁

On OCN and in this article: http://www.mobipicker.com/nvidia-gtx-1080-directx-12-benchmarks-async-compute/ But only in DirectX 12 games will know if its true

Could be Samsung inexperience of making GPU's @ high MHz on 14nm Finfet node. Whereas Nvidia is using TSMC as usual.

If what is true? Pascal doesn't have Async Compute. We know that -- that doesn't mean it was rushed.

Eh, potentially. They usually get engineering samples from the foundries way before they spin silicon on it though. For example, there was a video recently about Nvidia's chip failure lab (where they detect issues with chips coming back from the foundries to fix them) and the guy mentioned that they were already receiving 10nm test chips from foundries. So I kind of find it hard to believe that AMD didn't know that clock speeds would be an issue, unless they completely skipped that or decided to design around it somehow.

If this is true, bad very bad AMD

Will see in time, you know, like Maxwell. From Ocn: - Ellesmere XT currently on A0 testing phase. - Ellesmere XT estimated to reach A1 phase by 3rd week of May, only by then the specs will be finalised. - Ellesmere Pro and Baffin currently not even reach A0 phase. - Baffin reference PCB will be 4 layer board + single fan, board length slightly shorter than Nano. - Ellesmere XT reference PCB will be 6 layer board + single fan, board length slightly longer than Nano. - AIB will release both single fan and dual fan version of Ellesmere XT cards but not triple fan one. As from Amd Radeon history the XT is the fastest chip from them. The Pro version is mainstream.

I can't help but wonder ... people keep using Ashes to test for Async, but didn't Ashes turn off async for NVIDIA (on their request)? Or did they get a special version where this is turned back on? Well, proper benchmarks will eventually tell.

Not big deal with stocks,up-down every day. But Nvidia will milk the users almost 6 months from June,if Amd dont have a new mainstream card this summer.

Assuming its true. You hear rumors everyday about everything I'm sure.

Sad... first AMD arch I was interested in. Was hoping they'd have something that could match a 1070 to pull me over to the red side.

Could this be the end for AMD in the GPU market ?

nope they didn't nvidia patched their driver so it didn't expose the feature as such game thinks it doesn't support it and doesn't use as async on nvidia Cards but we don't know if it's the same for Pascal. I wonder what is a proper benchmark? Cause thus far nvfan boys have disregard every dx12 game on the market is unreal engine the only ones you consider real benchmarks?
