PS4 was just announced to be $400, no online only requirement, you actually own the game (no stupid activation locked to an account) and it's more powerful hardware. Damn, I don't like a lack of options, the more competition the better but it seems PS4 is the only choice. Everything including insiders were pointing to it being $350 at launch until M$ decided on $500 for the XB1, gee, thanks M$.

Ok it seems like that Sony has learned one of their lessons from the mistake they made at the beginning of the PS3's life cycle. Having a reasonable price from the start.. MS might be just a distant memory because of this. Depending if the Wii-U can get some more 3rd party games I could see more people buying that system along with the PS4 over the Xbone.

What really irks me is the ridiculous stone age storage used every time. 20GB/60GB PS3s when 500GB 2.5" HDDs were dirt cheap, and I mean the high quality (as they reached) 7200RPM ones. Now the PS4 rolls around with 500GB storage which may or may not be 3.5". Even if it is 2.5" again 1TB HDDs cost nothing. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't some pseudo-FAT32 type of file system which robs 40% of the storage for whatever reason. As if it weren't bad enough that manufacturers measure HDDs in SI units rather than binary just to troll us. 500GB? No problem bro, here's 465, oh and the OS reserves an additional 165, enjoy 300GB.

I mainly only buy consoles for JRPG's and the odd exclusive. With easily swappable hard drives, no region locks, and a cheaper price tag I'm pretty much sold on the PS4 at this point. MS can keep its weaker 'Kinect' enforced offering.
