I have stuck with PC gaming for many years now not bothering with consoles. I played my mates wii u on COD and found that to be enjoyable, also lego city and other titles not available for pc. I know a lot of good titles dont make it to pc, this is the reason I am tempted to buy one of these. A powerful console ready made sounds tempting, as I use my pc for film music etc, would be easier than having to shell out £1000 on a new machine, I worked it out this might be a better solution.

There's many console gamers where i work, i'm looking forwards to the release of them both and hope it'll be an exciting time for them all. these same words could be said sarcastically but i trully mean it, i rave about graphics non stop to them but you really gotta see dx11 next-gen in full flow to see what the fuss is about. *for example that part in Metro LL where you're running through a moving train with all the cloth physx and lightrays in your face.

I always buy the new consoles and they always end up collecting dust when I move back to PC gaming. I need to stop myself from wasting more money 😀

What is it with USA always getting everything first?

Probably because it's the single biggest market right now. Could be worse, you could be in Japan and have Sony not even give a release date. No way am i getting a PS4 on release day though, they started so well and the hardware looks great, but the actual game list is really poor and it leaves me scratching my head why Sony are making the same mistakes as they did with the PS3 and taking their time with console selling exclusives. If they think they can live off the bad publicity from Microsoft then they are just setting themselves up for a huge fail.

Not really as Microsoft is offering nothing special games wise on release either. Which is to be expected I guess. Sony is working on 20+ titles at the moment, so it might throw up a few surprises near to Christmas. They also have over a million pre-orders for the PS4.

Never said it was special from MS, but it's definetly better than the PS4. The indie fight between them both is nice to see from the dev's point of view, but the reality is that very few people care about those games and it won't help sell either console.

What is it with USA always getting everything first?
Always been this was regarding hardware releases since the early 1980's. From my experience buying USA consoles is very good as they become as 60hz standard and are usually unlocked or can be unlocked quite easily. Im thinking of buying a PS4 just to throw under the TV so it can be used by anybody. I will acquire mine through Grey Import just liike the old days. All my consoles were from the USA apart from PS1 which was direct from Japan.:)

Because if we don't get it first we'll bomb Japan again you don't want that do you. 😉

USA is the biggest market for Consoles, so it would make sense to release there first.

Dont matter i would still acquire a USA machine because of the fact that they can be unlocked easier due to earlier PCB hardware.

Is there a difference to the console hardware wise? The console is not region locked so there is nothing to unlock other than the BluRay player which I think is locked to A, and since like games BluRay 's are cheaper in the UK that won't be much use either.

Im thinking of things like Hombrew and other mods. If you look back at any console before PS days back to the nes/ master system days all the best ones were the USA machines. They ran unrestricted at full 60hz compared to the 50hz slideshow standard that UK machines were. I know things have changed but the modding of US consoles has always been easier than there UK counterparts. Ive always bought US machines and Jap direct, never ever any UK trash apart from my PS3 which i sold long ago.

That was all true in the past, but none of that has been relevant for a long time now so I wouldn't bother buying a US console unless it's cheaper. No such thing as NTSC gaming anymore, and NTSC when it ccomes to movies is something horrible that I still hate.
