Two 8pins for the card that performs like 3060. That challanger cooler looks inadequate just like on 6700xt.

All pictures and no product... or drivers for that matter.

Yeah, the power delivery seems exaggerated.

Dude, my friends 5700xt challenger cooler sucks too. I had to undervolt the piss out of it with 75% fan speed to keep it under 75c, and it was smashing 110c hotspot stock settings. Now it does do 73c load and 90c hotspot. But that is still pretty meh.

This is why they are called challenger ! Because they challenge you to manage to set em up on a way they do not overheat 😛

Or perhaps it's named after the Challenger explosion.

So, when are we going to finally get to see proper reviews of these cards? Or are they just going to remain as vaporware?

Best not to judge the cooler until you see it in action. My son's Challenger 6650XT is actually running cooler than his XFX 5500XT did, and it had a considerable larger cooler on it. I could always tell when he was playing FortNite because I could hear the fans on that 5500XT through the wall.... We haven't managed to force the fans on the 6650XT to spin up yet. The card just doesn't get hot enough. My 5700, on the other hand.... Can't wait til the 6700XT gets back from RMA. Just as soon as I remember to ship it....lol You just don't realize how much heat an RX5700 with reference cooler can dump out of a case, until you go a few weeks without using one and then have to reinstall it..... Personally, I care more about the performance and noise than I do the heat. Let it run at 95C, so long as the card isn't melting itself or anything else.

Maybe your friend should find a case with better airflow? Or maybe they should have RMA'd the card? Regardless, the 5700XT was known for running hot anyway. Even XFX had issues keeping the 5700XT cool but, then again, in my experience XFX had issues trying to keep a 5500XT cool as well.

Ive never had a problem persay with an XFX I've had. My XFX RAWII 5700xt never ran hot but want quiet. Usually 90c hotspot and 76c load default but to overclock it and keep it cool was loud. He does, im fact has the same case as me with 7 120mm fans. Corsair 780t. Airflow isn't an issue. He could have peobally RMAd the card. But we were in a iRacing league and he was running for a championship. So very little downtime was possible. He hasnt had an issue since and even let go of the option of a custom loop.

I love the low profile of the cooler, a throwback to when GPUs didn`t need giant coolers, but still, i agree with you and also have some doubts over the cooler capacity.
