So....4k that's cool and all except very few can afford or even run 4k res. properly....wtf
imo mauf. should be focusing on monitors that the average Joe or enthusiast....such as 1440p seems like 1440p is being ignored to me this is the new 1080p why these companys are going straight to 4k is dumb....we should already have 1440p panels that come 120hz stock yet the Monitor industry is lacking innovation and technology and Gsync is mehhhhhh unless on 1440p+
why anyone would even consider 1080p these days is beyond me....at my work we have upgraded everything to 1440p and everyone frakin loves it...lets move on its 2014 not 2004

arent all 4k only running at 30hz currently? I haven't seen one higher yet...
you spend $1200 and only get 30fps....after spending probably $1k+ in video cards JUST to run it....and you can only max out at 30 fps....I think I'll wait till they get it a bit...higher? 🙂 If they ever do....not like theres any real support for it yet either...

It's funny how most people on here see a new monitor launch and automatically think it's aimed towards gamers.
Monitors are used for a variety of other things, other than games, where 4K res would be extremely useful.

Interesting.... found this over on the nvidia page after I googled it...
A) HDMI
The current HDMI 1.4 standard only has bandwidth for 4K at 30hz. HDMI 2.0 will add support for 4K at 60Hz. Details should become clearer in late 2013. There are a few TVs on sale today that support 4K @ 30Hz through HDMI.
B) DisplayPort 1.2
DisplayPort can support 4K @ 60Hz using Multi-Stream Transport(MST). The graphics card provides signals for multiple displays but these are multiplexed on a single cable. Computer monitors such as the ASUS PQ321Q 31.5-in 4K 60 Hz Tiled Monitor take input using this format.
