Demand for powerful graphics cards is higher than ever, but it's not like miners need gaming monitors. In fact they don't need that many monitors in general, so the gaming monitor market can't reach its full theoretical potential under the current circumstances.
Edit: double negative.
Undying
Being in a market for an ultrawide monitor this can only be a good thing.

Miners don't need monitors for their GPUs.

Well in the UK at least I've noticed monitor prices increase over the last 6 months.

ive been watching 27" G7 for quite some time, mainly for the excellent VA panel.
it's more like a whim thing than a real necessity, but why not if I find it with a discount.

I wish both Nvidia and AMD would get into the monitor market. Bet they could design much better monitors to complement their GPUs than the traditional display makers.

I'm sure there is a MoniCoin down there in the pipeline somewhere that can only be mined on monitors... 😎

Good. I haven't been in the market for a monitor for a while now, but the prices on decent quality monitors seemed a bit steep the last time I looked.

Where are those cheap monitors?
Ah, reading the title again slowly.
May fall is the part that makes all the difference.
Like we may see video cards in stock, and we may also buy them at MSRP.
Or we just may take it all with some kosher Himalayan salt.

It makes sense that monitor sales have slumped because many people have started using TV’s as monitors (such as lg 48” oleds).
TV’s now have 120hz refresh rates and a lot of them also support freesync/g-sync/VRR. Then you have monitors like Asus’ PG32UQX that is 3x the price of a 48” C1 OLED, offers less features. Why waste money on a gaming monitor when a 4K 120hz TV can do gaming better for cheaper?

Thanks to C1! too, once you go OLED you don't want go back to over-priced/little to offer lcd monitors.

I´m still waiting for the G5 that i bough from Samsung back in November...
I bought it at 50% discount, but when i get it i´l loose money apparently

if you bought a decent monitor in 2016 there's nothing worth "upgrading" to, only real upgrade path these days is a 48" tv, strange times

I'm actually surprised they didn't slump sooner. So many screens are released with same specs as older ones. There hasn't been as big of an innovation on monitor side vs TVs. Then there's the price of some being more than TVs.
