I guess that's an appropriate way to build a rig without the current horrendoes costs of GPUs, risen RAM prices etc. not to mention availability. I've heard you can even set 16.9 million colors for iG RGB galore!!!1! 😀

This could be useful for people wanting to simulate a certain build, but has its limits as to actually entertain people. But at the current price of GPU'S, I guess simulating is the way to go. Hey look at my rig, its not real but....................

Ummmm......its not leaving Early Access??

I'm imagining the ironic situation where someone is legitimately trying to figure out how to build a new PC but their current one isn't good enough to run this. I also find it funny how your virtual PC could run Fururemark better than your actual PC.

It's probably geared more towards PC noobs that have only ever bought pre-built systems. Better to learn this way rather than trial and error and potentially destroy expensive components by installing something wrong.

It reminds me of the news on TV, they show us images to condition us to seeing tragedies so when it hits home we don't react like it's something new. I see your point nhlkoho, I was thinking like this is all we get now that GPU prices were sky high. Like the conditioning of tragedies.................... It is good to get hands on hardware building, I've worked with computer hardware in my normal job.

I might give it a try, but for me the tactile aspect of PC building is a major factor (e.g., screwing in the SSD and heatsink, feeling the memory and GPU clicking into place, man-handling the board into position, etc). Not sure how much of that I'll get with a simulator, but I guess it'll be helpful for someone who wants to get into PC building without the cost/risk. Next up: PC gaming simulator! With the PC gaming simulator, you can now know what it feels like to play PC games. Available on PC :P

So, you actually run a virtual futuremark benchmark on a virtual PC from your PC. OK. Would the score then be valid? And more importantly what PC would be credited IRL?

If only their was a way to find out what kind of PC I need to build to allow me to run this software....

This game was just released as Early Access on Steam?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/94/94450.jpg
Double checked their page, you're right Looks like this launch is just from alpha, to early access beta. Especially judging from their steam discussions page, which only has threads old as 11/3/18 http://store.steampowered.com/app/621060/PC_Building_Simulator/
The day has finally come… IT’S LAUNCH DAY! After months of build-up and over 500,000 downloads of our alpha demo on Itchi.io, you are now finally able to play the new and improved PC Building Simulator on Steam! This is the first step that we’re taking to give you the experience that we have always envisioned, via Early Access.
Still technically a launch though.

Any chance this has an airflow simulation?

Exactly! Simulate different fans/cases/configurations, and I will throw money at you. No it doesn't.

Not even remotely sorry. Not even watercooling. Watercooling will come later no doubt, game seems designed for it

Damn, I'd definitely buy this if it did.

if hard tubing routing is supported in the future, it could be an hit.

Call me when we have a virtual pc build simulation that will require you to have a virtual pc before you can run the virtual pc builder software to build a virtual pc.

Can you run it inside Tabletop Simulator though?
