And what would you do mith less then 16gb of ramdisk? You do realise the more ram you take away for ramdisk the less ram memory you have, almost leaving you without options.
You could have 8gigs of ram and same of ramdisk, but uhat would be basically useless.
P.s. Apu doesnt have enough horsepower for any newer decent titles so dont bother.
What you wrote would work but there isnt any use for it really. . .

I know they don't, this is just a concept and i was interested what do you guys think about it. I personally would never go for APU even for budget build (little to no upgradability). But well 😀

Of course, I know Radeons are okay graphic cards. Personal prefference man 🙂
See that:
?
And yeah. I know this wouldnt work from financial stand point, just was curious about performance, but i guess the perf. gains would be negligible. 😀

Well Dravic you don't know much what your talking about, about APU's and ramdisk. APU'S work VERY VERY well! And for as APU's and ramdisk your comparing apples to oranges! Like this!!!! Apple #1 HDD and/or SSD verses apple #2 ramdisk. Ramdisk kicks apple #1 (HDD and/or SSD) ass. Drives being HDD or SSD is still the weakest link to overall speed ( read & write time ).
Dravic
I know it's like comparing 400mb write/save SSD to 4gb write/save ramdisk 🙂
But how much could it help when using APU, is the question. SSD is only used here as a place to store RAMDISK data (when closing and opening system)

SSD provides no benefit outside of read/write speed. They don't increase the performance of the processor/graphics in any way. They simply remove the bottleneck that mechanical harddrives have become. A Ramdisk is rather pointless. You're better off disabling the pagefile.

APUs are "perfect" for the daily user.
You can do all the facebooking you want.
You can watch full-screen 1080p+ netflix. (If you're not gaming recent titles, this is as intense as it gets.)
The only thing you can't do is play the latest titles at high graphics.
(Quake live, World of Tanks, LoL, that stuff runs fine. Only recent AAA titles are an issue.).
I highly recommend an APU for anyone that isn't a gamer.
A10 6800k ($150)
85 series mobo with vga/hdmi/dual-link DVI (3x monitor support). ($75)
8gb ram ($60)
120 gig ssd for OS ($100)
1tb hdd ($65)
cheap whatever case ($25)
500w psu ($40)
dvd-rw ($20)
-----
Roughly $535
Add an OS and you're at ~$635
That will buy you a nice machine that will start fast and do everything [non-gaming] you want to do fast.
Seriously. I love these things.
They're exactly what "family friends" (i.e. My parent's friends) need when they ask for a 'cheap good computer'.
Best part, if their kids later want to play 'real' games on them, just drop-in a mid-range GPU, and you've converted it to a pretty decent mid-settings gaming machine for the non-srs-bzns gamer.
OP << check out this mobo :

It's got a lot of connectivity.
I used it in a build, and it worked well.

Another moment: ramdisk will compete with APU`s videocard because both use system memory.
Dravic
And why do you think I asked about 16GB or more setup? 🙂
