The purpose of this video card "segment" is to keep prices of the actual video cards gamers want to buy at the inflated prices.

Could have been a cheap upgrade to a Ryzen 3200G I had to default to because the 3400G disappeared from shops when I was shopping for parts for my nephew. But... at 170$ or whatever? I remember when you could get a RX470 for that price... Maybe if it was 70$.

Fifty dolar card at best. Thanks.

If you think this is too expensive just wait for the 4000 series! The last 2 GPUs Nvidia have released are the 3090ti and 1630. Inflation, whatever the real cause is kicking in big time.

I was hoping it would have HDMI 2.1 so I can put it in my HTPC and have 4:4:4 4k 60hz HDR without any trouble and also Nvidia AI upscaling is the best in the world for movies. But having 2.0b is very bad not even HDR 🙁 .

"To tell you the truth, I'm still confused about why NVIDIA decided to release this card." Well, it's veeery simple, this is Nvidia telling us "If you want to pay $150 for a GPU this is the piece of crap you are going to get from now on, get rekt."

Kiriakos-GR:

Why so many tears? Product price this is not an GPU alone, some cards might come out with exotic cooler = FANLESS You may also use Seasonic latest fanless PSU, and build something of value as Silent PC.
You could do that without this external GPU already. And get better performance.

Will it run Notepad ?
Only on low at 30fps

Depressing. 9 years after buying my gtx760, one can get fairly similar performance in 2022 for nearly the same price!

_ Ya. Like right now in my work desktop I have a GT710 that barely does anything.. like dragging window around the desktop lags the computer. I built this machine with a spare 3900x I had laying around. I want to upgrade the GPU, obviously the 3900x is fine.. I don't want to rebuy a processor for integrated - RX550 was going to be my choice but they are selling for $160 for 4GB. This card is $150 and twice as fast. I wouldn't use this for gaming - maybe the RX550 falls in price.. but currently this is literally my top choice for my usecase. crap card overall but it's the best option for me.
What country are you in?

$257 is $40 short of purchasing a brand new ancient 1050 Ti where I live... https://i.imgur.com/W6EIdnV.jpg
The average hourly wage (pay per hour) in australia is 44 aud, average in uk is £22, if i lived in aus i'd be working and getting those big aus dollas in.

This is definitely not a gaming card. Office use probably fine. I am sure that is the intended purpose.
At that point just get a 150€ APU and save allot of money. Or an Intel with iGPU., whatever you want but this pos gpu for 150...
