No it is not. They used to make awesome ram sticks back in the DDR2 days, which offered excellent performance at the right price and their current SSD's are awesome too. The only reason why you hear such negative press around their SSD's is because well they sell a lot of them and bad word of mouth spreads a lot faster than good does. Just look at Razer, they make good products yet all you hear is people bitch about them. Same as with Apple, they sell lots of products and the negativity around them is absurd. It is a shame I still have some OCZ Nvidia SLI branded DDR2 1066MHz memory and they STILL work to this day and even overclocked nicely to 1155MHz @ 4-5-5-18-1T timings.

really?? Its not the wars, hunger, poverty, inequality, racism and trafficking. But its tough because exotic hardware manufacturer goes bust? Many, many, many hardware manufacturers have gone away from the pc market in the last 20 years i don't understand why this surprises anyone. Its not like the it sector is a stable and companies have longevity.
What the HELL is you problem pal ? Are you implying that i do not care about things such as those you mentioned ? Get real, this is an exotic hardware site/forum, my statement was in context thereof. :bang:

I've had mostly good experiences with OCZ, I'm glad to see they'll still be around. I buy products on their individual merits, not based upon a brand as a whole. There isn't a company out there that hasn't released a dud product or two.

If the Company is not able to agree to final documentation with Toshiba, the Company expects to imminently file a petition for bankruptcy and liquidate.
I hope they work everything out. Industry consolidation isn't good for us.

Prices killed them.

I've always liked Toshiba products, I have a TV and a Blu-Ray player made by Toshiba and they're flawless. As for OCZ, well I stopped using them way back when I had my old Asus P5N-D nForce 750SLi mobo, Corsair won me over with stability, RAM wise that is.

Good move by Toshiba, maybe next year we'll see some of their own performance offerings.

Prices killed them.
Prices are going to kill anyone who can't make their own NAND. Toshiba can.

There is nothing technical about this. This is the exact same procedure that THQ went through. THQ had their hand picked buyer just like OCZ has theirs. If the court does not agree with the Toshiba deal then it will be exaclty how THQ was liquidated; everything sold piecemeal to the highest bidder.

Wow, didn't see that coming... My old DDR2 ReaperX's were great and are still going strong even today in my mother's computer.
