NZXT super-sized their Kraken series liquid coolers, meet the x72 for cases with 360 mm radiator mounts. This new cooler is compatible with CAM software. This allows you to program, customize and monitor this all-in-one liquid cooling solution for your processor. Armed with three 120mm PWM fans and a nice radiator to go with it, the performance is really good, next to being extremely silent, NZXT probably has got the best-LED lighting system implementation in the industry as well.
Hmm.. I don't get how a 360 cooler can fit on 280 mounts. Large parts will be outside the grill mesh no? Or is it should be 360 as the X62 is the 280 raditor. Kind regards. B.

That was a typo, already fixed.

They should better do something with their QC. Every second pump fails within 6-10 months. See newegg reviews. Also CAM software quality is already funny. Every update breaks something that had fixed by previous ones.

Another win for the H110i GT again, but nonetheless excellent cooling here by the NZXT X72. And not to mention silent too. 32dB on performance mode? Nice!

Thats a nice looking block! Wonder if similar is available in DIY market? Would love to have one for my loop.

Always liked NZXT as a company, but I'll have to say I was disappointed in the X62. Had nothing but issues with one I put in a build I made about three months ago, and the CAM software was awful. Pumped failed and although they replaced it - I ended up removing it and installing a Corsair H110v2. Hope this X72 is better QC'ed.

Wow impressive results! It would be much easier to judge the true Acoustic/thermal performance if additionally we had charts like: - dBA sound level measured at the fixed temperature and/or - temperature measured at fixed dBA With charts as it is (dBA chart, temps chart) its somewhat complicated to judge the combined acoustic/temp performance, and one has to switch between the two charts and try to make educated guess (something like 1/(Temp * dBA level).

Thank you HH!

Hey thanks for the review double H. Yeah i have no use for such a monster, im not quite the overclocker id like to be. Still a nice product.

Hi, Nice article! I'm still wondering what can decide me to go for a similar solution instead of the NH D15. Is this kind of solution really worth the money? (especially considering the fact that I do not care about the aesthetic part) Or am I missing something? Thx for your feedbacks.

this is nice, but iv always enjoyed my h105, no issue cooling any oc from 3770k to 6700k so far.

@Jordantt You usually lower noise as water is a better medium to transport heat, and most of the time it will lower temps inside the case, which lowers temps for gpu etc (if rad is setup as exhaust), as heat is dumped outside the case, while keeping fans silent. Most of the time i can stay about 30*C below max allowed temp (cpu), and even that i oced my 1080 to run around 1.9 to 2.1ghz with maxed out power and voltage, and its still not passing 84*C (80 with stock fan profile). But main reason for me is the absolute silence when idle/low load, you basically have to look at the power led or my moni, to know if its running.. Edit: i dont run any of fans that come with an aio (except maybe on alphakool/EK units), so i never hear fan related "noise", and the pump on the H60i and now the H110i are only audible when i take of the side cover.

The same reasons could be said for the NH-D15 if you can fit it. Most AIO coolers are louder than the NH-D15 in perceived noise ie pump plus fans. I have a NH-D15 cooling a Ryzen 1800x and it dumps directly out the case as well. The NZXT x72 does seem to outperform the NH-D15 in both noise and cooling which I believe is a first for a AIO so its worth considering if one can fit a 360mm rad. Personally I like air coolers for the simplicity and if they ever fail ie fans break the CPU throttles down but never any damage to anything.

well, at least corsair covers ANY component inside the pc that gets damaged if the aio fails (as long as the aio is under warranty), so i dont really worry about that.

It's exactly what I was thinking. @fry178 / @JamesSneed Thanks for you answers. What would be your final choice if your main criteria are silence and performance? (without regarding the price nor the aesthetic) @JamesSneed what kind of fan are you using?

Be Quiet! Dark Rock TF and possibly Dark Rock PRO 4 for more silence with good perf.

@Jordan_t I have 2 Phanteks PH-F140MP's on the NH-D15. I have those two fans on the NH-D15 and the rear exhaust which is another Phanteks 140mm fan all driven by the CPU temp. They are all connected to the CPU fan headers(have 2 headers) which spin up the fans under load. I have a custom profile in the BIOS controlling the fans that I setup after doing some CPU temp monitoring and making notes on temps. So under 99% of load conditions like playing games etc the fans are usually under 1000 RPM.

As much as I want to like AIOs I just can't. Can't relly justify the high value and risk over a decent Air Coooled solution. Can't understand how NZXT haven't scrapped that CAM software already and built one (decent this time) from zero. They are just limitting/ruining customers experience with it.

@Jordan_t Artic silent for case (0.3 and 0.08 sone versions) and blacknoise multiframe for radiator, all controlled by the board (turbo profile, so silent on low load, but spin up quickly under load, but since all are running below 900rpm, still silent).
