If it work as bad than on PC, then good luck...

I bet that's going to sell really, really well. Not.

Why the hell would you want this? Maybe this is a UK thing but, firstly, I don't go on trips of more than hour very often so I don't need entertainment in a car besides the journey itself and music/radio. Secondly, if I had children, they'd have Nintendo Switch, 3DS, Valve Steam deck and mobile phones to play on. Finally, if I wanted video games in my car, the LAST thing I'd consider is a streaming service, considering I will definitely be losing signal intermittently just traveling to rural areas, let alone going through tunnels, parking on a ferry crossing or train... Oh and one other thing, I just want a car that's nice to drive. I'm guessing most people don't give a damn about driving a vehicle that handles like a barge and feels as enjoyable and responsive as a hippo km rollerskates?! Sod your stupid game streaming, put that money into improving the ride and handling.

Drive in your car, game somewhere else. Why would I want to sit in my car gaming, when I could be literally anywhere else?

Gonna DLSS the s*** out of your car.

So driving a car is not so important? We can't spend a few hours going from point A to point B?

The last thing we need in car's is another distraction. This is all so dumb.

Indeed. Many car infotainment systems are pretty crappy. Granted, most today are finally responsive/competent, but you're either going to get something very expensive, something with limited capabilities, or something that will have software that will some day need updates but won't receive them. Maybe any combination of those 3. I want less unnecessary tech to come from the factory of my car.

Well that's the thing - when most people think "road trip", they're not living on an island and they're going to be driving for several hours. But I agree that if passengers want to play games, there are a slew of alternatives that would be a far more sensible and functional option. Unless you're streaming to a local device (in which case: just play on that device?), I don't see how this could possibly yield a good experience, even if there are no issues with hardware performance and software functionality.

I strongly agree here. Seems like every car these days (especially EVs) are focused way too much on cramming in as many features and power-operated devices as possible. All this does is add weight, consume more energy, make the car more expensive, and harder to repair. Just give me something that'll protect me well in a crash, decent speakers, steering wheel media controls, AC, reverse camera, and comfortable seats (as in, seats not bolstered for racing and don't make my butt hurt after 30 minutes). Stuff like MSRP, fuel economy/battery range, handling, and repair costs will all improve as a consequence of the simpler and lighter design. Profit margins will drop but sales will go up. I don't want literally everything that can move to be motorized. I'd rather my phone do the navigation and media playback. HID headlights are a downgrade from halogens. Many modern safety features promote bad driving practices. The list goes on and on. Any vehicle that requires you to operate any kind of climate controls through capacitive touch is badly designed. Any vehicle that fails to drive because of software issues is a complete failure.

As if there aren't enough cars wrapped around trees and such, we need one more reason.

Because cars nowadays are designed by accountants and not engineers like in the past. They replaced all mechanical parts with electronics that are notoriously unreliable and that's it. The car manufacturers wants you to buy a new car every 5 - 7 years and not being able to fix and keep the old one is the main goal for them.

I can see it now, speedrunning elden ring while driving.

Dumb idea. There was a backlash when Tesla had this feature.

Here comes TDLR issues to your car, and some proprietary nonsense with it. Ill stick to my 2010 era and older vehicles. This is just, wtf.

Playing a sim racing in your car .... I guess if they can use the actual pedals and wheel as control might have sooooooome merit

Are people serious? I imagine most people aren't driving at all times in their car. You could be sitting in traffic, waiting in a line for food distributions, or doing long travels with a passenger. What if you're on a highway, and there's an accident that takes hours to clear? What about sudden bad weather conditions where you have to pull-over and wait? You could even offer the games to people you ride-share with. There's plenty of situations you can play games while in a car. I know people are silly nowadays, but nobody is going to intentionally drive down a highway and all of a sudden bust out a controller and start playing some Skyrim just to swerve all over the road and wreck lmao I like the idea of GF streaming in cars, and I'd use it. If it gains traction it'd be neat to see public transit integrating it, but that's likely a far ways off (although easy for Uber/Lyft/etc drivers to provide on their own) My question is whether it would only work for game streaming from NVIDIA's servers, or if I could stream from my own computer with Sunshine or GFE?
Never been in a traffic where I can just chill and take my mind of the situation outside. Or even accident scene. Maybe at a parking lot just chilling this would make sense aka picking up food. Sudden weather change even then if one needs to pull-over it's better to follow what goes around oneself to not get wrecked.

The best part of wasting GPUs like this, is that NVidia can then add those GPUs to their sells so it will look like they sold more than they actually did.

And after some car accidents a shitload of ppl will sue NVIDIA (wich they deserve if this is going through) And I wonder what the excuses when speeding with the car will be? "Sorry officer, I was playing GTA"........

I already see stupid people playing games and browsing the internet on their phones while trying to drive.... The more distractions you make available to people, the more accidents there are going to be from people utilizing those distractions while driving. Also, this is one more stupid feature that people like me will have to explain to the technologically inept consumers who buy cars equipped for it.... It was bad enough when I had to start explaining to people that Android Auto doesn't work with Apple Car Play and that they're competing technologies. Then I had to start explaining to elderly men and women that Apple Car Play and Android Auto won't work with their 2003 Ford Taurus because the car is older than smartphones are. Have you ever tried to explain to someone why their brand new Apple IPhone won't pair with the bluetooth in their late 90's vehicle? My job has made me realize that people are considerably dumber than I had originally thought....

Sounds like you work for a Ford dealer. I have a new 21 F-150 and the techs at my dealership are clueless and when I go in for service, I have to explain everything to them. The salesman will have fun pitching why the customer needs the extended warranty now for sure since the computer in it alone will cost $15K to replace. Pretty soon vehicles will nickel and dime the customer for every feature as if they just entered a damn casino
