That's one of the games I'm holding off on until I have a new GPU. I hope it plays well too, not just looking good.

Metro EE Sams Story but with less bugs and cut scenes, i hope. STALKER, the game that made me realise forking out for a 8800GTX was worth it.

I hope it's not AMD sponsored and DLSS2/3 support will be in πŸ™‚

Pre ordered a while ago, mostly as a show of support. Sadly some of their team has had to join the military and one has been killed.

Volodymyr Yezhov was a developer for GSC and worked on STALKER, Cossacks, and others. He died defending Bakhmut from invaders in December. RIP. Looking forward to this and I hope the rest of the team at GSC get all the resources and support they need to finish it even despite their homeland being under constant attack by an impotent dictator.

Cossacks was a great game in the day, i used to play that Flashpoint and the first Ghost Recon where you just had a crosshair on the screen and no weapon.

The title of the thread should already answer that for the nVidia fanboys here. For me, I don't care for RT which just about halve framerate vs non-RT, a well done rasterize game looks just about as good. Besides, the AMD guys here can always hope for FSR3 for this game, but I guess you don't have to worry since it's an nVidia title.

A well done Raster game doesnt look as good as a well done RT game, Metro EE looked great on my 6900XT with low RT but way better on my 4090 with higher levels of RT.

I hate when GPU manufacturers attach their names to games. I dont trust them whatsoever.

I'm assuming they pick up some of the development costs, in return for having their name linked to the game and some 'exclusive optimisations'.

Afaik they do help with the technical side of things, sometimes solving issues or at least helpling with them with something the dev wants to do, or they outright offer you the libraries to incorporate into the games. This often saves a lot of engineering hours on the dev side, thus money. They also do cross product advertisement too (iirc it's actually part of the deal), which may help especially the smaller devs / publishers to get their name out. This has it's up and down sides. Of course this "exclusive optimisations" are often vendor specific (since one of them helps you), can be kind of a black box (not changable by the dev once implemented), and only available under certain conditions, but on the other hand, those optimisations can make the difference between an unplayable laggy game, or something that runs a lot smoother. At least as far as I know.
